I hope not! I really don't think he wants to either I feel he's comfortable where he is in music right now, The music industry today sucks if you haven't noticed and the internet is killing cd's and live concerts and everthing. the biggest stars are american idol contestants> I don't think he wants to get involved with that crap He was great when he was suppose to be, trust me!

There is so much wrong in what you've said it's not true.

Sorry if that came across as rude, but:

The music industry does indeed suck today, but not for any of the reasons you gave, oh no, not at all. It's their handling of everything and how their aims/goals have changed that sucks. I could go into further detail, but I can't be arsed. You almost got their though - connect "music industry losing money" with "american idol contestants only stars around" smile.

Also, the internet is not killing live concerts, that's one of the now few ways an artist still makes money.

Furthermore, Prince is more heavily involved in the music industry than ever before. He's playing its game, he's broking deals with it...he is more involved than ever.

I don't think he even thinks about "making a comeback." I read an article after the Musicology concert where the interviewer asked him how he felt about his comeback. he said, "Comeback? I never went anywhere."

That's just Prince being same old arrogant Prince. smile

People in England thought he was dead. nod It was a comeback whether he likes it or not.

lol Do you expect anything less from him? Though I don't like arrogance in anyone, including him, he's at least has reason.

That really does disgust me. lol No words can show how angry it makes me that he's done that. He'll be there forever, and that new year's eve thing was a joke! What a rip-off.

What about his fans in Europe? Who supported him in his previous high years?

Do you mean that he doesn't care? You probably right...

I was surprised at him myself. I wouldn't mind seeing him there since it's a small venue but that's probably not gonna happen unless he stays until March or April.

As for New Year's Eve - Please - $1,000.00? Get real. That was an insult.

I think we're in the "comeback", and have been for about 2 years, in the US especially, but also Europe to an extent...

Highest grossing US tour, interviews and peformances on all the major TV shows, awards (US and UK), playing the superbowl... What more do you want ?

Prince will never be as big as he used to be. Even if he sells out to the shit hop sound and has a hit, he still will not be loved by the general public these days because he doesn't have the shit hop look. And even if he tried to get the look, he would look like a damn fool. For Prince, or any other good artist, to be big, shit hop has to go out of style.

I agree, to an extent.

In the UK shithop is not at all cool or successfull outside the chav community. It's the resurgance of Britrock in all its glorious forms that is doing amazingly over here; indie, punk, new rave - it's all quite awesome to be honest, I love that it's back - there's so many gigs on it's brilliant, but I digress. Prince could become shit hot again if he found his place. smile He'd get more respect and he'd make better music.

By the way, I am not trying to say that he needs a big comeback. Of course, it would be fun if he were played more and I could discuss him with my friends without being the only one who knows anything, but that's not really important. We Prince fans complain way too much. Other people have to wait several years or even decades for new music and don't have the opportunity to visit their artist's own club ...and so on. One year and we demand that he changes theme and style, gets rid of people, this and that... We are spoiled. neutral

I wouldn't say we're spoiled, at least me anyway. Unlike the rest of the general public these days, I like funk and Prince is the only one that still makes funk. When these other current artists make something their fans don't like, their fans have a list of endless other artists to choose from that are equally as boring as their favorite artist. I don't have that choice. With me, it's Prince only, or buy some old funk from other artists (which I already have most everything anyway).

I disagree.

We whine because we've had better from Prince, and so we expect him to retain that quality. He hasn't.

As far as I'm concerned he never left.I agree that some albums have been better than others, but he's still been out there putting out albums. Some artist put out 1-2 and leave the scene then try to make a comeback?
