JAMES BROWN'S DISLIKE TOWARDS PRINCE?

A lot of people has wondered why Prince didn't say or do much for J.B's death or funeral, rumor has it, is that J.B. wasn't to fond of Prince, because he felt that Prince borrowed a little to much from his style, such as his moves (dancemoves as well), hairstyle, music, band setup, the screams that he does on songs. James felt that he didn't get the Props that he deserved from Prince.

Nonsense.

James Brown has always felt as if he was the only true originator and that everyone - including MJ, Prince, etc - was copying him. However, he did respect Prince and had planned to do some work with him this year. If Prince already knew about this, I don't know, but JB definetely had it in mind.

I also think prince didnt want to take the spotlight off of james brown its his time to have his respects paid.I think michael jackson coming to the funeral was odd and he obviously took some attention off of JB.If JB didnt like prince its ok because every1 isnt going to like everybody.

That is total crap and BS with a capital "B".. James Brown was a major influence in Prince's music and I doubt seriously if you believe the rumor that James Brown disliked Prince. During the tribute on Saturday,Dr. Brown's manager publically stated that JB told him before he passed away that he still had a lot of work to do with Prince and MJ, and he wanted them to keep real music alive and carry on his legacy;he also requested that those who emulated him over the years clean up the disrespect in the music that's out there today because it's hurting his people. So as far as that ridiculous rumor, it's just somebody looking for gossip that has nothing else better to do with their lives but live off of cheap gossip and BS.

I mean really, the man was just buried and people shoveling BS out of the man's grave and he hasn't even been buried for a full week yet.Secondly, who said Prince had to make a public statement about Dr. Brown's passing? He has a right to do it in his own way. I notice a lot of fans on this site is turning Dr. Brown's passing into "Prince" mode for their own selfish reasons. Dr. Brown's passing is not about Prince or MJ or Patti LaBelle or any other celebrity, it was about "James Brown".

Prince and his staff already posted a statement giving respect to Dr. Brown on Prince's site and it is still there. Thirdly how do you know Prince did not give his respects to the family privately? Prince doesn't owe any of us an explanation on whether he did or did not or an explanation to any of the unofficial Prince fan sites.

Can we just have a little more respect for Dr. Brown and let him rest in peace respectfully, without conjuring up rumors and lies about Dr. Brown's friendship with Prince for selfish and immature reasons?

I recently read this on another site too.. Original poster was just posting what he heard.. No need to rip them apart. And I dont believe that it is out of the realm of possibility that there was as much love for each other as people want to believe. After all it may be that whole "student will never be greater than the teacher" mentality. You think Prince has sooo much love for D'Angelo? Even though D'Angelo has given Prince his "props".

Thats the problem with being an "original" Someone is eventually gonna come by who is influenced by them, and become even bigger.. Jealousy is a terrible thing.. Im not saying JB was jealous of Prince, Im just saying they might not have been as close as everyone wants to think..

You can have mutual admiration, doesnt mean you have to be friends..
