I love the D&P videos, and they flow very well. Especially Willin and Able!! Its a hell of alot better than 3 Chains O Gold which is completely unwatchable except Sexy MF, and Love 2 the 9s. Did you order a pizza ma'am? Prince- UTCM

What is up with P and rollerskating? okay? remember Gangsta Glam (rollerskating there too!) I bought this for myself as a xmas gift and watched it the other evening. Hmmm. It's no Lovesexy, but at least I didn't laugh like I did when I watched Grafitti Bridge the first (and only) time. I remember when D&P the album came out, I was slightly less than a casual Prince fan and I didn't like Cream or D&P so I never bought the album. I did like Gett Off, though. I think because the album is squarely in the middle for me as far as Prince albums go, I'm only luke-warm for the vids. The Game Boyz are But I will give Tony M. props if he was REALLY playing guitar on Willing & Able; too bad he had to open his mouth and rap. Willing & Able, Gett Off and Live 4 Love are definite highlights. Jughead & Call the Law are low points. (I seriously thought Tommy Barbarella was a girl at the start of the Call the Law vid ). At least P's typhoon isn't out of control during this era...that comes later. oh, and even though I'm not a fan of back-up dancers, I'd take Diamond & Pearl over the Twinz frenetic dancing any day! At least he didn't let them sing! . [Edited 1/2/07 21:20pm] The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

superspaceboy said: OK, I admit, D&P is not my favorite by a long shot. Other than Thunder, Gett Off and a couple of others, I find the album to be lack luster and Ho Hum. It also sports some his most successful tracks like Cream and the title track...both which I think are terrible.
I received the DVD twice as a gift this year. Not a big fan of the album, but it's still Prince...and STILL in his hey day. I figured I had an hour to kill so I popped it in. From the get go...PURE DRECK! WTF are those weird Arsenio Hall look-a-likes that act like Morris and Jerome? The entire concept of the train leaving for Minneapolis and that chick in the white suit etc... WHere did the concept of this come from? The videos are totally uninspired Live-at-Paisley-Prince-Romps. And they all look the same. The only video I was looking forward to was Thunder Live. Yeah right! Only song listed where the full song is not featured...and just an intro at that. I never thought D&P as a video album or even a cohesive video companion to the album. Makes me wonder how 3 Chains of Gold fared with this treatment. ----- Nothing wrong with the videos from D*P after the disater of GB. Old boy needed to sell some records and have a little fun.
