NOt all of them, but those that are about sex are the best ones on the subject. Prince can express this type of mood musically the best.
"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

Supposedly Lennon & McCartney made a pact that their first 100 songs would be exclusively about puppy love. Prince just changed it to doggy-style.

There's actually ALOT that have nothing to do with sex! You clearly didn't think that much before producing this thread.

padawan

A critic once said that Prince uses sex AS a metaphor for other issues. I think that's true.

Songs like Let's Pretend We're Married and Lady Cab Driver are explicitly sexual, but they're actually more concerned with things like alienation, rejection, anger. That's what distinguished Prince from other songwriters. While others sang of love and romance with the subtext of lust and conquest, Prince would just come straight out with the sex and swagger, with a sly innuendo of genuine feeling.

Like in When U Were Mine. Instead of talking about a woman cheating on him--which would be the traditional romantic language--he outright describes a threesome ("When he was there sleeping in between the two of us.") Somehow, this explicitness brings the heartbreak and grief into sharper relief.
