Live 4 Love vs. Cinnamon Girl I was listening to these two songs back to back, and i was struck at just how similiar these two songs are. Both songs have heavy subject matter, both songs have great drumming, bass, lyrics, and harmonies. However, as much as i love P's drumming on "Cinnamon Girl" and the power chords of said song, "Live 4 Love" stands out the most. Michael B's on the intro and turnaround figures of the song at the start of each chorus really gets my head bobbing, and relaly listening to the lyrics and P's lead and background voices and harmonies. So I want to know from y'all whcih song y'all think is better? 3121 #1 THIS YEAR |

It's a tie for me and although both (indirectly) tie into the Gulf Wars (& external factors such as racism-Cinnamon Girl; justification of war-Live4Love), Cinnamon Girl's message resonates a little more.
ONly Prince could find a way to sing about and have a video that provokes a mix of emotions in a time of "war". "Old man's gotta be the old man. Fish has got to be the fish." | |

The Gulf War, war and terrorism and their effects on people, people being pawns in the game (or victims of war times etc.) , prejudice, the Middle East tensions and the effect on different people ( a US soldier/pilot, a girl of Middle Eastern descent, etc.) I think both songs are great and show Prince´s songwriting skills.
