I'll always have a special place in my heart for this cd...it reminds me of the string of Paisley parties when he was fine tuning these tracks...back in the day when I got excited to see Larry on-stage with Prince...I love Mad Sex, Newpower Soul, The One, and Wasted kisses...

and...

Come On is one of my all time favorite Prince tracks...oooh that beat! I loved the maxi-single for this, every remix rocked, and they played this track out at the first celebration and I loved every minute of it...and was shown on the "fam cam" talking about what a great cut it was... eyepop

Unfortunately, this cd also has Push It Up and Freaks On This Side which are two horrifying tracks...like nails on a chalkboard... for me, they truly bring down what could've been one of my favorite Prince cds...

I never really cared too much for this CD.I don't think it was meant to be a "Prince" album anyway and that's probably why it was labeled as an "NPG" project. It all sounds like throwaway grooves that Prince just wanted to release.

But,having said that,I must admit I do like "Shoo Be Doo"smile

I think Prince has always liked these songs (I don't think he considered these 'throwaway grooves' more like party funk tunes that would play well live) but like many of you have said they probably fitted more appropriately on a side project where he could experiment, hence an NPG release. His photo on the cover will likely have been to simply increase sales!
