Why Prince is Prince I read along time ago when 'Around the World in a Day' came out that he always has his next album in the bag before he releases anything current...that way he never gets stuck creatively and always stays ahead of the pack artisticly...it makes sense when you consider why each album sounds different from the next...but it's all still Prince!!!
He has a follow up album to 1999 that he won't release because he never wants to sound the same from one album to the next...to me that's what makes him so unique he never takes the same road twice. You Are Beautiful Loved & Blessed, PaTricK

I understand Prince's decision to always change and never repeat himself, but looking back I think he should've held back his releases a little longer (18-24 months instead of 12 months).
This is only looking back - trust me, I did enjoy getting a new Prince album every year like clockwork!

It must be hard not to repeat yourself when you write as many songs as he has in all his life!

As far as his output is concerned he can do what he wants because it helps define who he is, once a month or once every two to three years, whatever as long as the music is funky and good.

I think the next cd could be a tribute to Dr. James Brown..with a lot of funk and rhythm sections<---did I say that right? [Edited 12/30/06 18:33pm]
