Well, it is classic Prince, but I think that the song that actually replaced that song on the Purple Rain album, The Beautiful Ones, is even more classic Prince.

Very cool song. His recorded version AND the First Ave, 83. Would have been on the album after 1999 if there was no movie, I believe. At the very least, should have been a b-side right along with 17 Days, Erotic City, etc.

I find my self believing Prince, I find the song sincere and passionate. The meloday and harmony are haunting and the lyrics remind one of a desperate man looking for the socket. Great pick for an appreciation nod. Happy Holidays!

Not as much of a classic as many make it to be but yes, a half decent song that would not have disgraced a b-side.

ELECTRIC INTERCOURSE and beautiful strange are 2 songs I've never heard. I'm going to let them come my way, in their own time.

It was great to hear him play it on that First Avenue concert back in '83. Initially, this song was supposed to be played in "Purple Rain" instead of "The Beautiful Ones". I'm glad Prince made the switch since "Beautiful" was more befitting of that particular scene. "Electric" didn't seem like a convincing song to win Apples back.

I love him for making this song, but I also hate him for not releasing it. He couldve put it on Crystal Ball, the B-Sides disc, or made it a b-side on a single or even made it available on NPG website....or something.

If anybody as version of this song in great quality (either live or studio), PLEASE lets communication via orgnotes.

I wasn't very impressed by Beautiful strange though. The two "briiliant" songs were elsewhere mentioned in the same breath. Hmmm.

Can someone please tell me how I can get a copy of this?! I am dying to hear it.
