On the US morning show, The View, Starr Jones asked him how he managed to play so many instruments. He said that with a synthesize you can pretty much play any instrument you like.

So I agree with those of you who have posted that he doesn't REALLY actually play more than the basic 4-5 that we all know about. I think the rest is synth.
