Rock Hard in a Funky Place -- who laid the beat?

Was that Sheila on the drums, or was it Prince?

That is one tightly sewn pocket, I tell ya that much.

Thanks, in advance, for the clarification.

According to Uptown's The Vault, it is Prince.

All the drumming/drum programming on The Black Album is tight imo. even a song as poor as Dead On It has a strong rhythm section.

I love that breakdown, with the two snare hits on the 3 and 4, before the groove kicks back in! Awesome song, one of my faves.
