Anyone noticed songs that rip off Prince? I was listening to darren hayes the other day and the beginning of a song ckearly sounds like let's works(drums).
Obviously neptunes/timbaland have copied prince's drum programming before. e.g gwen stefani's banannas imitates 'housequake' Chino xl the rapper also used 'something in the water' chorus EXACTLY on one of his songs. There's currently ads on u.k t.v with 'u got the look'; obviously without the approval of Prince. Anymore?

He is the blueprint to pop-culture/mtv era of music. Producing Style - Rap alone- Every Rap Producers. Keyboard loops, drums, etc Madonna is sex-hype- I love how she gets praise or credit for Like a Virgin,etc.. when all that is ,is a white Vanity.I still believe she was only promoted originally because the industry needed a white balance for pop mtv, because MJ & Prince were running it and would be for years to come! She is clearly a mix of both. This has been done a million times, From Elvis - Britney Spears. Madonna was the 1980's version of this racist thing the music industry does. Michael Jackson please from 1988 - On he has taken from prince with his promotion ideas-strange personality, looks, surgeries, skin bleaching,etc.. Prince in 1985 at the american music awards & not doing the we are the world song. Is MJ's "prince blueprint". The weird-buzz factor. MJ took this and ran with it. Heart made their comeback in 1985. Look at their clothes on the album and videos. Heart was a 1970's clasic rock band that wanted to get a push on MTV. They went straight to a prince-ish imagine & packing of their new stuff & became huge again. Janet Jackson was almost dropped from her label until she took got Prince-ish idea makers. etc, etc, ect (above are just major acts, but from 1984-1986 there was so many average-barely known acts that took from the prince blueprint)

Cee-Lo's "Living Again" is a direct rip-off of "The Walk" -- it lifts the main riff, the "Hup...Two...Three...Four" theme. It also uses Prince's line -- "Stand up, everybody -- this is your life" from Sexuality.
Of course, Timbaland worked on Cee-Lo's album, so... [Edited 12/31/06 7:59am] We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

The songs from 2006 that really stand out to me as Prince knockoffs are:
• SexyBack (Justin Timberlake) • Promiscuous (Nelly Furtado) • Mama's Room (Under The Influence Of Giants) • Almost all of the PCD album (Pussycat Dolls)

In 2006 was the Justin Timberlake album, I think that album was the best Prince record of all time
3121 wasnt half bad either. Also that damn Push up song from 2003-04, u could swear its Prince, sexy falsetto insistent beat this is it I think. 17 Years ago I made a commitment to Prince
