SOTT live: Forever In My Life
Rave: Red/Purple House - the whole blues segment was insane! Nothing Compares 2 U - everything from him approaching that shocked lady, giggling @ his suped-up piano, that first bang on the keys... DAYUM!!! Priceless... PR: It's been too long since I've seen it, but I remember it being pretty good. Actually, I usually end up singing Take Me With You the way he sang it on that tape (it's in your eyes, what can I say honey, you turn me on) so maybe that's my choice...   I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it | |

I'll bite on the Rave 2000 DVD, cause it's the only Prince live show I've got on video/DVD. I purchased the DVD about a month ago, not really looking forward to it, because footage I had seen from it on VH-1 gave me very little reason to want to buy it. I just thought it would be nice to have some kind of Prince DVD.
That said, a lot of people criticize this show/video, but I think it's great. Visually, it should have been a lot better without so many quick shots and bad editing. Aurally though, I thought it was fantastic. My favorite parts of it included Gett Off/Gett off Housestyle, 1999, Fly Away w/ Lenny Kravitz (don't care for that song, but it really rocked NPG style), and The Time's stuff. It was an exciting, fun show, and if you crank the volume up, you're sure to enjoy it. | |

You know, to be honest, I hated the Purple Rain live video!
SOTT Live is still the best live document on video of all time and it really, really needs to be updated to a quality DVD (not that one they have from Venezuela or wherever that was...). | |

Rave .. Purple House, Pop Life, Adore SOTT I gotta see it again. Pop Life? Adore?... On Rave? Where?... I think Rave was pretty lame. Prince seemed quite bored with it all and looked like he really didnt want to be playing all these hits... The sound is quite terrible in places too. Lenny Kravitz sucked. Vocal arrangements were bad. All in all something was missing. SOTT. Great vid. But not entirely live. See Beautiful night and how the mic is all over the place, yet his voice never fades... Anyway, great vid to watch... The Cross is excellent! PR. Pretty good, gets a bit lost and wonders off for a while and the song PR is wayyy too long. But ok. The best live vid that I have ever owned was the Livesexy 1 and 2! Unfortunately I dont have it anymore and it sure aint in the stores no more... If anyone has a copy they wanna sell me, then let me know. (Euro format PAL). | |
