I'm sure this has been done before, but... I wanna see what people think are Da Man's best 12 inchers. Here's mine:


1. Mountains (12” mix) – Pure sublime funk. One of Prince’s best tracks.
2. I Wish U Heaven (Parts 1, 2, and 3) – Inventive and funky. Took the song to another place.
3. Alphabet Street (this is not music, this is a trip) – This needs to be reissued ASAP. Deserves a wider audience.
4. Kiss (12’’ mix) – If you don’t move your body to this, well, then, listen to Yanni. Not that there’s anything wrong with Yanni. Just sayin’.
5. Little Red Corvette (12’’ mix) – anyone who loves the single mix will adore the 12 inch.
6. Thieves in the Temple (extended version) – Should have been the album version.
7. Partyman (video mix) – Another extended version that should have been on the album. The best thing from the Batman period.
8. Gett Off (extended version) – love the extra verses.
9. Space (universal love extended version) – completely different (and better) take on an underrated song. Now if only there was a mix of “Pheromone” out there somewhere.
10. Let’s Go Crazy (12’’ mix). The ultimate 80’s funk rocker. That middle section was like – what the fuck? – when I first saw the movie. I was too young to understand what 12” mixes really were. I just knew I had to have the long version, and ASAP.

1. I Wish U Heaven Pts 1, 2 & 3 - to take such a sweet & simple song and turn it into something like this is incredible.
2. Mountains - c'mon, it's just the nuts.
3. La, La, La, He, He, Hee (Highly Explosive) - the bass solo alone man...
4. America - it's about 5 minutes too long...but it still kicks ass.
5. Little Red Corvette (Dance Mix) - "mayday!, MAYDAY!"
6. Sexy Dancer - he shoulda kept every solo on the album version to be honest
7. Let's Work - too funky.
8. Space (Universal Love Mix) - even by taking out the best thing on the original cut (the bassline) this version still manages to be better.
9. Thieves In The Temple - probably the last 'classic' extended cut Prince has come up with.
10. Anotherloverholenyohead - actually made me begin to appreciate a song I didn't care for much before.
