The Parade tour at The Garden. He was playing Sometimes it Snows in April. The crowd was like wtf is this? prince had a major hissy fit, just dropped his guitar and stomped off. The band kept playing for awhile, looking at each other trying to decide what to do. Then they ended.

Lovesexy at The Garden too. No encore, although the props for Alphabet St were there. He made up for it at Nassau Coliseum.

I confess that my piano teacher would b my kind of man but I never thought of him "sexually"... If I had 2 chose between him and Prince, my choise would b: THE TEACHER cool

Prince should watch some of his MUSICAL performance and learn from him...

I've got an allergy to cat fur, I think it's the fur, maybe it's the whole thing. Listen I hope your teacher is alright with that. My advice is to shave it or keep it covered up!

Princes performances are mostly satisfying to me, the expections being performances which are lip-synched or were the music is prerecorded.

When it comes to these kind of performances, i remember boring, not very inspiring performances of Prince singing The Holy River on Top of the Pops, a very bland performance (well its a bland song also) of the Greatest Romance Ever Told during a dutch TV-show, and worst of all, Prince lipsynching The Most beautifull Girl in the world during the World Music Awards in Monaco.

Another turn off for me when Prince is moving too far into medley-mode. In my opinion Princes songs are far more touching and energetic when performed in their entirety. Alltough the musicianship during the Lovesexy tour was very good, the annoying part of that tour for me is that most of the songs were played in medley's or were edited, especially during the first halve of the concerts.
Also during the ONA / Musicology period, Prince had the tendency to go into medleys too often, or to make his songs sound messy, by injecting them with jazzy breaks and interludes. During that period i often had the idea that Prince was sometimes too much concerned with telling us "Hey look how good and versatile my band is!".

So, for his future live-performances i hope he cuts down on the medleys thing and the showing off of his band, and that he delivers full versions of songs, without unneccesarry, showy breaks.

D'you know, I've forgotten the year, but the most elated and most disappointed I've been seeing Prince was at Wembley Arena in the late 90s when he, Larry Graham and Chaka Khan were touring together... just after Emancipation and NPS...

Prince was shockingly bad. The show was insipid and boring.

HOWEVER... during Larry Graham's set I got to see Prince act as soundman, standing at the side of the stage, cans on ears and, just like Chris Moon described him, an octopus over the soundboard. THAT was an awesome half hour, truly amazing to see him at 'work' and laughing/interacting with the other sound-guy, being human. It is, to date, the best memory I have of Prince.

I've enjoyed all of his performances that I have seen live.
And I've never had the misfortune of seeing him lip sync.

**** If u r alergic 2 cats (the animals) u would die if u visited me. I have 3.
In this case I would advice u 2 adopt a Devon Rex. Scientist discovered that these cats dont have that allergene.

I keep the other "kitten" COVERED AND SEALED. My teacher agrees and is betta 4 him its this way.....

He disappointed me with his Hit N Run tour when it came to Atlanta in April of 2000.

The Venue (the Atlanta Civic Center) sucks acoustically, but it was Prince jazzing up his hits with Najee`. PLus all those damn medleys!!! (If I hear the Rasberry Beret/Take me with you combo one more time, i'll go mad)

On the plus side, his dancer Geneva was great to look at smile

I took my girlfriend at the time and she was a Prince convert in the months prior (she never used to like P), but I was really disappointed with all Najee`, all the time.

I saw the Jam of the Year on January 9, 1998 at the Fabulous Fox and that was a SHOW! Great vibes and excellent setup.

The Civic center is like some dark basement/closet and P seemed bored for some reason. I was about 10 rows back (in the center).

I've only seen him live a couple times - One Nite Alone and the Musicology Tour. I was actually a little disappointed with the ONA tour - maybe it was just the night that I saw him, but he just seemed really melancholy and not into the show at all.

Musicology, on the other hand...
