It's astounding how a bunch of Prince fans can get bent out of shape over the IDEA that Prince might dress in drag. It shows a mentality of close-minded puritinistic stupidity. I find monicas' story funny and not in the least insulting. Prince is effeminant, this is part of his beauty. He DID dress in drag too, for those of you who never paid close enough attention. That's him on the cover of the SOTT single, not Cat (as many people assume). He looks good in that dress, (except for his thick legs. lol.) Get over it!

who got bent out of shape?? I musta missed that part. rolleyes
zoinks, start flinging the insults right off that bat...who's undies are in a bunch again? yours perhaps? but sho ain't mine smile

What does singing falsetto has to do with anything. I madea similar post in a another thread about the style of falsetto. You see you obviously do not know anything about the history and roots of my culture or black music ,r&b or black gospel music. You would know that the style of falsetto singing was and is immensely popular in the history and of black music.

I obviously don't know what the fuck you're talking about. I wasn't talking about your culture, or balck music, or any of that. I was talking about common popular oppinion and general understanding which in the country is mostly puritanical and white-bred. To a normal white american a little black man in make-up who sings in a high voice is a drag-queen of some sort. That's all I said. I didn't say I agreed with that mentality and I didn't say anything about history or culture so I don't know what that's all about, sorry.

No sweetheart!!! That is Cat...

I want you to tell me what makes you so sure. Look at the hands. Plus all the songs on that record credited to Camille. Have you ever met a guy named Camille.

yep, i agree, it's cat on the cover of SOTT. the picture is airbrushed, mind you, to make us all wonder, "hmm...could it be?" i remember when the 45 came out, i went round and round with a couple of folks who swore it was prince about it. but it's definitely cat. i think he purposely chose cat to be his onstage foil because she has the exact same body type as his.

Bottom line: It's not healthy to let everyone know EXACTLY how you feel about anything, not just PRince's music. That's a very intimate thing...show me a person's favorite music and I'll see a part of them that should be reserved for only those close to them...

Most of my friends know I "like" Prince. They have NO IDEA that I know all the words to the songs, every sound, every inch to every record. That is reserved for only those who I choose to let into my world.

I think the closest Prince ever came 2 dressing in drag (if u wanna call it that) is on the cover of the LoveSexy tour book. With all that extra make-up and funky clothing, he resembles a NYC club kid.

Here's my 2 cents. First, Cat is definitely the Person on the Sign O the Times 12" Second, Prince is a Musician and this is his IMAGE. This does Not Necessarily Dictate who he is Inside or even his Sexuality. These are Stage Clothes. Just because he is wearing Certain Clothes or Makeup Doesn't Mean he's Gay. What all Gay guys wear Makeup? Your friend is Misinformed, please Enlighten Her.

Obviously I'm blind. I'll take a look at it when I get home, but I gar-un-tee I studied it really hard at one point in time. Ya'll can believe whatever you want but...
Why does Cat have hard-core man-legs and man-hands? and why the same haircut and glasses as Prince? Why the complete lack of breasts in the halter top? Does anyone but me own that record? lol. you just assume it's Cat cause that's what you were told.

It's Cat.

1. Cat's legs are longer than Prince's

2. Her breasts are covered up by the giant heart she's holding in front of her.

3. You can't even see what her hands look like since she's wearing elbow length gloves

4. As for the hair style& glasses the whole point of using that picture and not showing the face was to make people wonder. I guess it worked.
