Hi Folks,-

Is there any Video out there for "THE FUTURE" ?!?

A Friend of mine told me, that there are 2 Versions out there -
one - a kind of "patchwork" out of Batman-Moviescenes, and one
"normal" Studio-Video.

I never have seen one of them - and never heard about those 2 -
so - is this the truth ?! Are there two Videos out for THE FUTURE ?!?

Who knows anything about it ?!?

Not that I know of. Though Prince has been known for doing videos for songs no one has seen. I think what you saw or are refering to is a fan made boot like IIWYG video.

And - yes - I told my friend to, that maybe "his" Video
turns out as an fanmade patchwork Video.....

Prince often produced Videos, which never official see
the light of a day - I know that - but sometimes they
go from hand to hand and you could read about them -
for example in UPTOWN'S THE VAULT - but a Video for
THE FUTURE - no - nothing.....

Yes, there is indeed a video of the Future, but not one of the two versions you described.

In the Netherlands (were i come from), the Future was released as the fifth single from the Batman album (the first four being Batdance, Partyman, Arms of Orion and Scandalous).

But this dutch single wasn't the album version, it was a cd-single, with the house remix of The Future as the A-side, and the house remix of Electric Chair on the B-side.

The video used to promote this single was a recording of a live-performance of the Future filmed in the Feyenoord stadium in Rotterdam. The sound of that performance was mixed out and replaced by the sound of the house-remix.

I have seen this video several times on dutch television, and as far as i remember it became a top 15-hit.

I am not sure altough, if this video was also shown in other countries.

Yes - The Future was a Single release also here in Germany (where i come from) -
but I couldn't remember this "Livevideo".....although I often see the Liveperformance of The Future on Video as part of the Konzert from Tokyo Dome.

But OK now - we "have" a kind of Livepromo for The Future then !
