When did Prince stop doing splits? I know this is a crazy question to ask and I'll Probally get ripped about it, but what the hell. Around what year or stage in his career did Prince stop doing his signature splits during a performance or stop performing without a shirt? | |

Okay, I don't know how true this is, but a friend of mine--and fellow P Fam--told me that Prince stopped doing splits because of a hip injury or something that had to do with him wearing his high heels. I don't know if this is accurate or not, but the way I was told it, it seemed pretty convincing.
On another note, does James Brown still split? I love a Man who:
Wears More Make Up Than Me. Wears Four Inch Stilleto Boots. Changes His Name To An Unpronouncable Symbol. Who Changes His Name Back From An Unpronouncable Symbol. Oh And Most Importantly, Who Is Sexy Little Drop Of Butterscotch | |

That funny because i heard from a DJ in Minnieapolis that works with him from time to time who is a friend of mine say that he had a hip replacement operation because of high heels and years of wearing them has did damage, maybe prince should just settle for a pair of Rockports  | |

If I remember correctly, on the Rave concert video he did the splits on this weird octopus looking carpet in the middle of the stage and afterwards says "I just wanted to see if it worked" obviously referring to its function to soften the impact of him doing the splits on it.
Anyone else remember? | |
