SIGN OF THE TIMES DVD - NOT!

I'm angry...

This cheap friggin Brazillian so-called DVD is all over eBay with idiots actually bidding on it!

It has the wrong artwork, and incorrect AND incomplete setlist and looks like shit!

How the hell can this be a legal release - i know this has been bought up before but the crap being spun on eBay is crazy...the killer line i found was 'World Exclusive Release By Prince Productions'

Aggg!

First of all don't be angry.

If the search engine of this site still worked you would have realized that although the artwork is wrong the DVD is actually pretty well done. It is COMPLETE and it sounds and looks better then the video. It is also a factory pressed DVD. I would actually recommend buying it.

The word I've heard is that these are indeed legit. The company in Brazil is able to buy a license for a limited run of these DVD's that will most likely never be made by the bigger companys. They have released tons of music DVD's and they sell them in legit online stores so they must be somewhat official.

no no no! First of all let's get things straight.
THIS IS A BOOTLEG. If you look at the track list, it is incompleate.
If it is a "factory pressed DVD" then why does it NOT have the whole show?
The reason: because Factory DVD's can hold 8GB of memory, while DVDR's hold only 4.7 GB.
The picture is a Purple Rain era pic, and the design you say: "is actually pretty well done."? It looks like a amature did it.

I would not recommend my WORST ENEMY to buy it. It's a Piece 'O Shit is what it is. Nothing more.

Prince Productions? What a joke. brick

Well you are wrong. I just love people who post without actually reading what I have to say or without having real information (actually owning the DVD or having seen it.)

I have the DVD and it is THE COMPLETE MOVIE and it is FACTORY PRESSED. I did not say the design was pretty well done (I in fact commented that the design was wrong) I said the transfer was pretty well done. IE the sound and video.

Hey Lovemachine...

My post was only a reflection on what i had seen as i don't have this DVD myself.

If you have a copy then i'm all ears...from what you are saying the tracklisting is the same as the official film release - this is good to hear (even though the artwork is wrong) and you say the transfer and sound is decent?

Can you tell me if the soundtrack is indeed true 5.1 surround? I was sceptical that they had just taken the original stereo track and mixed it to 5.1 channels - not actually mastered it in true Dolby 5.1.

Mmmm...i might consider the purchase - my VHS copy is almost ready to die!!!

Now we just need Purple Rain Live and Lovesexy Live smile

Eye also have this DVD & it is the COMPLETE Sott- concert as released on Vid.

Don´t judge a DVD on it´s cover! wink

The picture is sharper than the video version. It´s a little bit dark, though, but isn´t that the same thing on the vid. Anyway U can adjust this on ur TV.

Overall sound is OK. Better than eye´ve Xpected. It also has 5.1 surround, but cannot judge this one, cuz eye don´t have surround sound yet.

The menu looks cool, & there is direct scene access (always a plus!).

BTW this DVD is a manufactured one, NOT a DVD-recordable.

My verdict: this DVD is a must buy!!
Especially when ur vid. is wearing out or if ur planning 2 buy the vid.

Cuz when will it B released officially on DVD?! Well, Only P knows!
