I've got a small box of on unopened geodes. Every now and then, I crack one. You know, the beauty is on the inside. But it's funny because it does look like that.

Still, I like that pic. It's a good way to do Vegas under the guise of New Years.

totally, i'm diggin the pic too.

but wait a minute...*flipping through the pages again*..."what the twinz smell like"? "x-posed"?! dude! i was thinking that there was gonna be some sorta virtual smell-o-visionesque thing for that. perhaps former NPGMC members would get a card in the mail with a picture of prince holding up 2 fingers with a "scratch n'sniff" comment next to them or something.

great. now we gon' have folks in vegas on new year's, yelling up at the stage to prince "what them twins smell like?!!!"

I thought the weirdest thing was the tone of the "interviewer": "What our readers want to know..." What readers? Who are you, some independent investigative journo? Not that we would ever suspect u of working for Prince's PR outfit - I mean I'd never have suspected your credibility, but questions like those just made it clear that the mag's anonymous interviewer is definitely completely autonomous and these interviews are uncensored and unrestricted in anyway.
(overall it was kinda cool, tho)

Everyone pick up the Pepsi connection, BTW - they're sponsoring the half-time performance (or is it the whole Superbowl?) too.

Finally read one of the articles(the first). Knew nothing about Hayes. Now I know he has a sense of humor and watches cartoons, so he's o.k. in my book.

This is a good idea. Hope they flesh it out, it makes the the rest of the crew more human.

Now they need a signup/subscription form so that non-org readers get the monthly reminder.

I might say that this is another nail in the coffin of real journalism, but in fact that would be a gross understatement. This is more like an upgraded coffin purchases with golden locks to hold a john joe for cremators. Cheese? This is going go to be toe jam cheese from Prince’s own feet. However I’m sure there are those that will line up to lick it clean and ask for more.
News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so.

an 'official' fan magazine doesn't pretend to be 'real' journalism in the first place. it's more for marketing/PR purposes, and then - if it's done well - it's a good bit of merchandising for the fans. but i seriously doubt they're interested in competing with the nation or the new yorker for probing, thought provoking stories. though if they publish an article with the twinz interviewing gore vidal, I'M SO THERE. nod

I'm with you Anx, it sounds like fun. I wish they would call you to write some stories like you said on the other thread before they locked it. I would do something like that myself but I draw the line at using Princebonics. lol

i just look at princebonics the same way as i look at, say, new york times style or any other publication's accepted style manual. at the new yorker, you refer to people as "mr." or "mrs." - with prince, you refer to yourself by drawing a little eyeball. tomato, tomahto. shrug

LOL true, but unless I'm writing in a legitimate dialect I'm a stickler for grammar and spelling. I wonder if Princebonics qualifies as a real dialect? lol

well, there are dialects and there are styles, which are two different creatures altogether - one deals with the spoken word (mainly) and is created over time by a region or community; the other, styles, deals mainly with the written word and is created by a periodical's editorial staff in order to give that publication its own identity. strunk & white are sort of the uber-gurus of style...you've certainly used their book "the elements of style" if you've ever had to write a termpaper in school. that's more what i'm talking about. i bet NPGMC has a little style manual with all the princebonics listed. how cute would that be? giggle

You are correct, I understand. I was trying to say that I personally don't like writing in cutesy styles. If I'm writing dialog in a particular dialect like Nora Zeale Hurston or Dickens for example, I'm okay with that. I can only tolerate Princebonics from Prince himself. It annoys me when anybody else does it. lol

Right, especially if it's written like the "Beautiful island breeze mixed with the cool air of a tropical rain forest" interview. Does anyone else get the feeling that someone (or two) has a product in mind?

Anyway, what kind of things could it reveal? What do people even want to know? Either way, at least now we'll know these guys if we passed them in the street.
