www.orkut.com is a networking site run by the google guys. I live in India in a city called Chandigarh in the northern parts and I had always wondered if there were any other diehard Prince fams in India so I hooked on to orkut and checked out the ‘Prince’ group. I’m otherwise not an avid visitor to such websites.

Well, more than India, I found some genuine fams from Pakistan, and with one of whom (Mr Nabeel Amin) I got in touch through orkut. We shared some Princely notes. One day (Nov 2006) my parents got an invitation from the Government of Pakistan for a friendly Golf tournament in the city of Lahore in Pakistan. Mr Amin gave me his telephone number (it ends with 3121 !!) so my parents could get in touch with him.

Though the schedule was very tight, my parents got in touch with him and the love and generosity they got in return is something our entire family would cherish forever. Our friend not only took out time from his hectic work routine for my parents but also took them around to famous areas around the city besides inviting them for meals. The thoughtful gifts from his family sent for me and my wife have left us spellbound. I have travelled all around the world but such love and affection has to be experienced to be believed. I had never met him personally and had only exchanged emails with him and now it seems as if I have known him and his family since ages.

I wanted to share this story with the orgers just as an example as to how truly music knows no boundaries, no borders, no states. India and Pakistan have had their ups and downs but the people share one common thread since after all, both the nations were one prior to 15th August 1947. And this also goes to show that generosity and magnanimity is still live and kicking today in this materialistic world.
