I believe she reported back in 2000 or so on her own site that she had received emotional support from Prince (during what was a difficult period for her). Clearly Prince didn't think her decision to opt for the Virgin recording deal was the best decision she made, as he has tried to explain in interview, but I don't think he was making a swipe at her personally in doing this, and I've never seen anything that she has said in response to this suggesting that she took it the wrong way.

I remember that! He was on Leno talking about that, and it looked like Leno took it the wrong way lol And I admit it seemed like a cold move on Prince's part but now I realize that he and Mariah are good friends, so it wasn't meant the way it sounded.
