Just for my information

Did Prince attend the MTV awards?

Not in the vain hope that he, not Mr Jackson, would win Artist of the Millennium...which was about what, exactly? Artist of the Millennium? Mr Lennon, maybe, Mr Presley, possibly, Mr Hendrix...many many more...and yes, Mr Nelson would definitely be a name I came to before Mr Jackson's.

RANT OVER

Prince should have attended. His silence during the appalling tragedy of a year ago is, slightly, compounded by his non-attendance to an event that helps mark the anniversary of the terrible attack on the two towers, the pentagon and the unfortunate people on the fourth plane.

I was quite vociferous in my view on P for not saying anything at the time, last year, ... thoug it is, of course, possible that he did say something in private to his spiritual guider, friends, associates, the victims or his ass.

This was just on obvious way of ensuring his sympathy was noted.

Maybe I'm pissed becasue it would just make me feel better for him to have been there to SHOW he cared.

Go on, shout me down...

My dear freind!!!
Eye very much agree with u that said Mr. Lennon, Mr, Presley and Mr. Hendrix should b the ones collecting the Artist of the Millenium Award instead of Mr. Jackson, but u have 2 realize that none of these people are alive 2 b able 2 collect it!!! LOL
So, alas, it has 2 go 2 someone who is alive!!! Although MJ looks half dead anyway these days!!! LOL

Yea, his sympathy SHOULD have been exhibited for the public. EVERYBODY wants to know how Prince felt about it, that's a FACT! He had no right to NOT make his feelings publicly known like 65% of the rest of the celebrity population. It's his DUTY to tell the world of his wisdom in the aftermath of Sept. 11th. For him to not announce his feelings was reprehensible, tragic, and a loss for the common good of the world. Forget the fact that nobody else outside of Prince's most avid fans feels he should have said something, forget the fact that most music fans don't know Prince even still maintains a career, forget the fact that his own parents passed away within months of each other during late Summer and Winter, he has no right to have them in mind after what happened in New York. We look to Prince for TRUTH, JUSTICE, and THE AMERICAN WAY. He has always been an American leader, ready to raise the flag whenever there is a need. The fact that he never said anything during the Gulf War is also reprehensible. Vietnam? His absence was stunningly arrogant! Forget the fact that being a musician doesn't entitle him to be a politician. He's just morally corrupt! And anybody who doesn't see that is an asskisser!

Err, didn't Prince put together a whole link of music together on the NPG ahdio show soon after and call it 'music for these troubled times' and didn't we all cheer loudly amongst ourselves saying how wonderful it was that he let the music do the talking. How soon we forget.

Matter of fact Mr. Billy Jack B..., he warned about Osama Bin Laden crazy ass BEFORE the Sept. 11 attack in a song, But Nobody Listen, "Osama Bin Laden Gettin Ready to Bomb". And also see above thread; which he Did! You ought to find out if he's done anything before making like he's done nothing!

I hear you, Astasheiks.

Also, people should not forget Prince's words whilst onstage in New York recently: "New York needs to heal..."

Also, wasn't Prince's "Osama bin Laden" warning shouted out onstage in 1998?

Yes, indeed! 1998 it was...I've just given that boot a listen! He definitely says "2001 is here!" "America, watch out!"

Spooky, huh?
