At first I thought he was referring to controversy caused by Prince's various album covers, but now I think you're right. People, do you see what trouble poor English can cause? That is a pic from so long ago, I can't help but look at it as him much younger. He is no less fine now however. And, I love that cover. The whole "rude boy" phase was cool--his whole new wave period. I appreciate that part of his history. That space in time where he wore the tannish-brown overcoat--before he got hold of the sparkly purple ove coat--only to let go of the whole ovecoat idea of move towards form fitting suits!! | |

considering the outrage caused by the dirty mind album - banned, blacklisted, burned, steam-rolled, etc... the controversy cover was a more conservative and wise choice for an artist still trying reach a larger market share. | |
