The chance for a huge statement is there to be made, obviously. Personally, I'd like to hear something we've never heard that he's been holding back for a momentous time like this. If I hear something new that's classic I'll be happy. I can deal with Let's Go Crazy and Purple Rain again if that happens.

I wish he did a performance in the same level of the Saturday Night Live 2006 and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. If he keeps on doing this, he will be more appreciated and respected. Less cult of personality and more music, please!

The PERFORMANCE will do the TALKING.

He should do a 15-minute jazz instrumental, with the only lyrics being "I hate football".

If Prince did "Pope" I think he'd blow everyone's eyebrows off. I know I'd be in the middle of my den screaming like a bitch if he sang that.

That or have a huge reunion with all his artists and band mates (Revolution and NPG)

My money's on the popular stuff--Let's Go Crazy, maybe Purple Rain, Kiss, or Baby I'm a Star, & probably something from 3121, maybe Lolita.

Honestly, the 15-minute jazz thing would have more of an impact. Not a positive one, but I guarantee everyone would be talking about it at the water cooler the next day, if only to say 'man, that was crap.' The Revolution/NPG reunion - people wouldn't even talk about that unless the music itself was fantastic.

Hmmm, most impact? Let's Go Crazy ending with a Hendrix-esque Stars n' Spangles, then grab a bass and do some top bass playing on Days of Wild, then onto the piano for Nothing Compares 2 U, then behind the drums for, I don't know, something, then ending with Purple Rain back on the guitar.

I'd like Prince to show off all his instrument playing skills so every musician has something to talk about the following day!

The performance was real cool, with the orgy, but the pants made it very embarassing...last month a friend said to me: "a friend of mine sent me a link to a video where Prince performs with buttless pants. Horrible"

The bad side is that lots of people dont even care about checking the music because of it. His friend only sent him the video for him to laugh, she didnt send it like "look, what a great musician".

I wish he could do performances where music was in first place. He´s been doing that lately (RRHOF was a good example, I saw Prince haters praising it). I hope he doesnt fill Superbowl with medleys.

If he was in no way commercial and pulled some real dirty mind shit.

It'll never happen; but if it did it'd be so cool - he'd re-present the raw, rock prince that earnt him this name and respect he's now relying on to earn money. And if he stuck with it and made more raw, demo albums today it'd be cool. Again, it'll never happen until he's around 60 and goes all Johnny Cash on us and just goes acoustic.

Aside from killer guitar playing, I would actually like to see him wear the purple trenchcoat again. Maybe only for the first song, then take it off.

He'll probably do a mixture of PR classics and somethign from 3121. If he did, you have someithng for everyone - new and old fans that don't know anything past Purple Rain or Parade.

I hope he blisters the hell out of that guitar!
