and "I'm climbing up the walls." I thought the song was about always being there for someone you care about, and going crazy thinking about them. Imagine my surprise when I find out the song's about a serial killer.
As for 1999, yeah, it has a cold/futuristic theme going on, but I wouldn't call it eerie per se. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

It's not at all about the tempo of a song. An uptempo song won't keep it from being dark, spooky, etc. Just ask The Cure. Even cuts like Lady Cab, Automatic and Let's pretend are very dark and eerie in subject matter. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

Huh? 3121 kicks the shit out of The Vault. I admit defeat about 1999. Between the Vader voice at the beginning, the woman's cries for help at the end of DMSR, and the subtle apocalyptic theme, it's definitely just a little eerie.
