Young and Beautiful... I think this is the first time that I ever heard Prince suggest; "Keep your clothes on..."
It just strikes me because, he's come such a long way since..."18 & ova, I wants ta bone ya!" Anyway, it's a beautiful song. I'm attempting to transpose it, so I can play it myself. Blue A coat of Blue Cashmere Blue

I miss the foul language, and the dirty songs.Around the time of the EXODUS, he had the filthiest mouth around town!!-and that was cool.Seems like quite a big change to now.He sure cleared up that Tourrette(wrong spelling-i know!!!) syndrome he suffered from.

I think this song has to be put into perspective. Yes, Prince has changed. Yes, his mouth and language has been cleaned up. But, Young and Beautiful isn't a song that Prince is singing to a young woman that he's interested in. Young and Beautiful is a song where he's singing to some young lady, perhaps a little girl, and he's giving her advice about life.
Does anyone remember when Prince and Mayte were going to have a baby, and both he and Mayte had supposedly recorded a collection of "children" songs? Well... Young and Beautiful sounds like something that would've come from such an album. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It shows you that Prince is trying to Guide a person in the Right Direction and give good Advice. It shows you about his religious direction and his views and what he feels is the right thing. It shows that he Cares.

Yes, it's refreshing 2 me to hear him offer his modest sentiments in this song. he doesnt want to have his girl think he's like all her other lovers---just lusting after her body. he'd take a raincheck till next summer before he'd lay her down right away, probobly show her in other ways, 1st, how much he cares. he wants her 2 hold out for the one deserving her affections (him). now, he MAY b taking this a BIT far (unless its almost next summer--lol). how he's "hippin" her 2 the "game" so she will remain "young and beautiful" is anyones guess. but we know p likes his games...i guess depending on the game, it will pass the time, and probobly work up a sexual tension of some sort, so when he does lay her down, she'll b MORE than READY! i think it is very romantic. May the BELLS ring 4 U even when ur not in love.
