Either way, stuff like that can fortunately no longer be hidden away but only contained. Believe me, i love Prince and consider him a musical father to me, but he can be so senselessly selfish sometimes (and generous too!)the charm of it has not worn as well as his talent. I used to like it when he held back something from fans or had to hide my walkman in the bushes when i'd go see him play, now it's just silly. it used to feel like somehow his power directly touched me and that was cool to a silly kid but for an adult, hiding your stuff in some bushes because he wants to powertrip at concerts is stupid. It's petty and no one else of his calibre has ever done that to the extent he does.

it's really juvenile for this forum to delete such great music, and if it's prince behind it then he's juvenile too. He is a public figure and he has worked hard to be a great entertainer, not to many in his field would be so senselessly controlling of his music. I doubt if Bruce Springsteen would attempt to have the vids of him pulled. As ardent fans, we need and love this stuff it's not like we're seeing something unflattering or bad for his image. It's simply the many doing what he does best. Well, at any rate, I got to see most every single clip. Fantastic. Grow up Prince and grow up moderators.

well you see mozfonky the thing with that clip was it was filmed for private
use.Probably was never intended to be released otherwise we would have seen it.The footage would have been stolen by a PP employee as what usually happened with any sounboard boots that you've heard.
So to be fair you can rant and rave about being a fan and what you think you are
owed, but surely our man must be able to have some private material to himself?
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

come on now, any public performance is only given with so much privacy in mind. it's not like he's rehearsing in private he is performing. he's just being a prick. I don't know where the boots came from nor do i care, i as a fan and a consumer want to see excellence from him in any form, i pay hard earned money for it and he works hard to provide it. Now, he can do what he wants but stunts like that insulatory approach to things have driven fans off in droves over the years, only us hardcore fans tolerate that crap and i at least can rant a little about it. I love the guy and accept him for what he is but i think it's fair for me to talk about his faults.

They werent public cameras there. It was professionally filmed by Prince's
people for private use,the same way 4 Those Of U on Valium was recorded and
Miles from The Park were.If these tapes hadnt been leaked then we wouldnt be watching then today and know anything about them.So then surely its the fault of the bootlegger for doing this?
Prince could probably release never before seen concert DVDs every week for
years but he chooses not to(god knows i would buy 'em).
How would you feel if someone came into your house an stole all your home movies
and old photographs?Violated?knowing that people were looking at your private moments?

with all that said im not condemming bootlegs i own a fair amount of unreleased
concert footage (including First Avenue 83)and i love every single last one of them smile

Prince was really smart for filming everything... But these weren't really private moments... they're concerts with huge audiences... I don't see why he wouldn't want to release them.

The moderators have no choice... If the clips are found here, then this website might be shut down.

I think we've all felt that frustration at one point or another on our "Prince Journey".

But don't blame the mods. They're just keeping the .org alive

For me historically would be Musicology. 4/10/90 was the 1st of 9 shows I attended and the show I first ever made it on stage with Prince after being into this man since 1982. "Will ever see" due to the fact once again this show like so many others was filmed and put in the vault. I hope to one day "see" this footage. biggrin

For a more realistic answer, same cause Musicology was a tour done like he last did with Lovesexy, large arenas and in the round.

those joints are going to be gone in like 5 minutes. The Prince police watch this stuff very carefully. I been looking at those joints all week. Y'all gon get them people in trouble.

We need to come up with a code word or something to let orgers know when some stuff becomes ....er... visible. Like uh, "hey y'all my vision is improving since Ive been wearing these tubes over my glasses. Youuuuu oughta check out my tubesssss to clarify your vision, too"... or something.
okay that was weak.

Yeah,we need some kind of private "code" for things like this lol

A way to DISCREETLY let other fans know.

It just makes no sense for him to even not release this stuff because it's better than 90% of his live performances based on what I saw. The "Live" show doesn't even compare in my opinion, in terms of creativity, musicianship and passion. Artist supposedly wants to put his best out there and this is as good as he got in that era.

I agree. I don't understand why he doesn't release this stuff. He could make a s***load of money too.

Prince isn't worried about the money (in this case), his concern is control and sticking it to WB.
