'Revolution' Reunion??? Isn't it time for a "Prince & the Revolution' reunion, complete, with tour, and wouldn't that be the concert of the century? "Plaid shorts are completely over."

You gotta admit, it's gotta be when he's at the top of his game for it to work. Not that he's not there now, but perhaps more time for him (them)?
I would give both cajones to see this fly. And I really, really, enjoy both of my cajones. R "Plaid shorts are completely over."

Can't you get off it?
I mean, can't you just leave it alone? I told you, I'm not gonna do your stupid reunion! I've gone to find myself. If I should return before I get back, keep me here.

I'd rather NOT c that happen.

I mean, can't you just leave it alone? I told you, I'm not gonna do your stupid reunion! I don't know WHO you are, or worse yet, who you THINK you are, but this is a valid question, I ran a search on the org, and could find no other threads pertaining to this topic. So in answer to your question, yes I could get off it? I mean, yes I could just leave it alone, but I didn't, and won't. And I've never asked you to do 'MY stupid reunion' or any others for that matter. So,fine don't waste your time thinking about the possibility of a 'P and the R' reunion (which I'm sure would be brilliant, and the best selling roadshow since the Eagles got back together), you rude, change-wary hag. I would be offended if you did get on the boat with this one. No one wants a dud at a Prince party. Abd besides, I was talking to Prince anyway. Do NOT make me pull this car over and beat your ass, because you know I will! You look like you need something to cry about, so here.... If that doesn't work, go find some really busy traffic to wander into..... Now, I must prepare my tea for the evenign. Chamomile, or white? "Plaid shorts are completely over."

If that doesn't work, go find some really busy traffic to wander into..... Now, I must prepare my tea for the evenign. Chamomile, or white? Crikey! Sounds like you need much more than a cuppa to calm you down. Since you admire the Revolution so much, I'm sure you recognize my paraphrase of The Kid's lines, spoken to Wendy & Lisa, in Purple Rain? You don't need to know WHO I am or what I THINK I am to understand the English language. I did not harangue you for asking a question that had been asked before, nor did I accuse you of failing to conduct a search on the topic before posting. My question wasn't to you. It wasn't even a question. It was a (modified) quote intended to give a smile to the reader. That reader was not necessarily even you as you'll notice I did not reply to your statement directly, but rather to the thread in general. I don't waste my time thinking about a Revolution reunion. It's something I have no control over, so why would I? You could be right: a reunion tour could prove to be hugely successful...or not. To debate that is pointless until and unless it happens. Your propensity for name-calling shows me nothing more than that you have a limited capacity to enter into an intelligent debate, preferring to resort to a personal attack tracking the discussion away from the topic at hand. In addition, where did you get the idea that I am wary of change? Isn't your argument in favor of a return to the past more indicative of that mindset? To honestly believe that your post on this public message board will be read and responded to only by Prince himself is absurd at best, delusional at worst. And your desire to see me come to physical harm shows an alarming lack of self control. I urge you to seek counseling for that. An anger management course, therapy or perhaps prescription medications may be options for you. Please talk with your health care provider. Maybe you will find some sort of inner peace and an awareness of the world at large, pick up a hobby or practice the art of civilized conversation. Best of luck! I've gone to find myself. If I should return before I get back, keep me here.

I mean, can't you just leave it alone? I told you, I'm not gonna do your stupid reunion! You know what? I DO need counseling. After reading my response, I REALIZED it. I did NOT recognize the lines from Purple Rain. I'm sure I will be ostricized for this. I know I looooove Prince more than thiiiiis much, but I don't know everything abouT him (he's probably, like, whew, thank God), much less, EVERY line from PURPLE RAIN, or EVERYTHING HE'S EVER SAID! Okay, I did resort to name calling. "Rude, change wary hag" was not the nicest description I could have given to anyone, is it? Unless of course they are, and then, of course, it is totally appropriate. I have to admit, I've felt like I've been bitch-slapped by the org this week, and I guess bitch-slapping back made me feel better at the moment. (You say I have my father's eyes, eh? Anything else about him you notice in me?). My thinking was: it's been a long time since the Revolution disbanded, and the general populace has come to accept this as part of their social vernacular. "Prince is cool, but MAN! He and the Revolution werre the bomb!" which, loosely translated, means the band was the pinnacle of greatness!!! (I'm not saying I agree, but trust me. I get to talk to a fairly large cross-section of the public every day, insert smile here, and ask these sorts of questions often). Now, with that said, wouldn't getting the Revolution back together be yet MORE change? And wouldn't that be great? I admit it. I'm a jerk and need help. I've been thinking about taking up a hobby, one involving a lost a method of self-expression, one which has been thought dead for a very long time, and capturing it on some sort of primitive digital media, like the stuff available now. Thanks for inspiring me in this endeavor, because I have felt nothing but 'Love' since I started it. Your friend, Cuddy Blunt [Edited 12/11/06 8:43am] "Plaid shorts are completely over."

Personally, I'd like to see a Lovesexy band reunion (with Prince).

if prince and all the revolution members ever felt warm and fuzzy enough toward each other to do some kind of reunion thing, then that's great and i'm sure we'd all get a kick out of it.
but anyone who expects them to pick right back up from where they were in 1986 is suffering from some serious delusions.

Thanks for inspiring me in this endeavor, because I have felt nothing but 'Love' since I started it. Your friend, Cuddy Blunt No harm, no foul, Dude. Don't let the negativity beat you down. You KNOW folks around here ALWAYS have something to say, and bitch-slapping is a popular pasttime for many. It's easy to get sucked into all that. Back to the topic, I know there are a lot of folks who want to see the Revolution back together for a variety of reasons. Many casual fans are only familiar with that band, so they use it as their frame of reference. And many hard core fans have a special place in their hearts for that group. I think there would be a certain degree of closure if they got together one more time. I mean, the break up was king of abrupt, seemed like some bad feelings were generated in the process, and folks want to see those fences mended. So it's a fairly popular view. So far he played with Bobby Z., Brown Mark and Dr. Fink at one of the Celebrations. And he played with Wendy on Tavis Smiley, then with Wendy and Lisa at the Brits. And the whole Revolution got together a couple years back for a charity event Sheila organized, but Prince wasn't there. So close and yet so far! Personally, I see everyone's point, but I'm one of those people who just aren't convinced that the show would ever be able to live up to the anticipation and hype. I dunno. I guess I'll reserve final judgement until it happens. I've gone to find myself. If I should return before I get back, keep me here.

No,I wouldn't want to see a Revolution reunion. If he had done this in the 90s,it probably would have been a big deal,But in 2006,who cares anymore? Too much time has passed. Most 80s bands have already reunited and broke up again by now Prince waited too long to cash in on 80s nostalgia.
I'd rather see a reunion of the superior 'Lovesexy' band, with Rosie Gaines filling in for the late Boni Boyer.

That's exactly the problem with this scenario. The Revolution everyone remembers is gone because the people involved aren't the same people they were then. You can't go back and why would you want to? How many people really want to go back to the person/artist they were 20 years ago? If they got back together, it would have to be to do something entirely different. And they're all already doing something entirely different. So what's the point? I've gone to find myself. Totally agree! I think they were the best band Prince ever had, and if you don't want to see Sheila E behind the drums for Prince again, then you're an evil communist who eats babies. I like SoulAlive's idea for having Rosie fill in for the late Boni Boyer too. I know it'll never happen, but I like the idea of it. Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

No, people would expect it. I'd recommend a small amount of it, just to get the people excited about it (and the people DO pay the bills). But there's so much talent/nostalgia/and brilliance behind this combination of musicians, couldn't they, of all of the bands on Earth, break new records, produce better quality work, and come up with new music so fascinating, intricate, and complex that they leave the world dumbfounded. They've already done it. It may have been twenty-plus years ago, but why couldn't they do it again? Just a thought.... "Plaid shorts are completely over."
