Main criteria is SOUND QUALITY...must be excellent!
Secondly the best gig and versions of tunes played...

I am torn between the Prince in Japan and Purple Finale to be honest....

Which one would u go 4...and why?

No question Prince in Japan is going to have the best sound quality because it's from a broadcast source, but you wouldn't be going wrong with the Purple Rain finale.


It (Miami) has a few sound problems (HCUDCMA), but all in all has good sound, and the performances are excellent.

I haven't heard the fine line cafe set so...but the guide 2 prince boots gives it a good rating (although I believe it's an audience recording meaning the sound quality would be lower).

How come you can only get one?

Do you really reckon they are both worth getting then?

Guide2Prince has the Purple Finale as a 2disc set yet the one I can get hold of is a 3 disc set!!!

Anywhere have reliable tracklisting for these sets?

Mine features the Sheila E opening act as well, but it's a 2CD set. Prince's show is complete, but Sheila's missing "Oliver's House" from her set ... The sound quality is *VERY* good ... IN MY OPINION, somewhat clearer that the Japan'90 gig, but I see some people in here think otherwise...

Yeah the Japan 90' gig has been released so many times by so many labels that there is probably a very good chance that some of the releases are better then others. My Japan copy is crystal clear.
