It seems that I see more people posting about how much they can't stand P's falsetto.

I for one would like to stand up and say that this is the one thing that attracts me most to Prince. His ability ot take the male voice into realms usually held only by women. Each time I hear him hit notes it gives me the chills.

**Do Me Baby-I said Oooh, Oooh, Oooh OOOHHH!!
**When 2 R In Love-(towards the end when he says "Can you hear me" after singing When 2 R in love for the last time.
**Adore-THE WHOLE DAMN SONG!
**Tamborine (at the end when he repeats Tamborine over and over, especially the 2nd to last time he sings it!!)

What falsetto moments touch you?

Obviously and I hate to say it but most of you caucasian people do not understand that the the falsetto has been very popular in the roots or r&b and black gospel music. So for the people who mention that they do not like Prince's falsetto do not understand or know anything about the roots of black music

I totally agree with ya...i've got friends who don't listen 2 r&b/hip-hop/gospel and all...and diss Prince 4 singin' falsetto...they even went 2 the extent of sayin' the musics cool...his voice sux...an example being "Adore"...i looked at them coldly and told them if their beloved Blink-182 or Top 40 buddies sang like that...come n talk 2 me about whose voice truly stinks...but as usual...not many 18-year-olds care 2 understand Prince...

Natasha

I Love Prince's Falsetto especially in DO ME BABY. His Falsetto is truly a Joy and it makes his Love songs Soar and bring you over the Top. Prince once said in an interview that it hurts him when he Sings in his Normal ,Deeper Voice. Adore what a song without that Falsetto it wouldn't give you the same High.

The Beuatiful Ones is what got me hooked on Prince.
The falsetto and the screaming... Blew me away..

Soul Santuary
Goodbye
etc...

Damn ... it did always aggravate me when i heard someone’s slanted view on P's voice, wouldnt it b a bonus 4 a male 2 have such a wide range in vocals?? Hello!!? Bah ... i pity those who cant detect the beauty of falsetto ...

Okies how can u not mention 'Soul Sanctuary' ... woweee near the end ... "Unbothered by the chaos swirling around outside ... In your arms is WHHHEEERE eyepop I wanna live and die” ... when that part escape his lips my hand is always eager 2 sit right over my dropped jaw ... sigh thats the stuff man, true remedy 2 gray sky days!

... also in 'La La La Means I Luv U' ... i think some1 mentioned it but hell its so worth talking about ova n ova yay! ... "The things I am sayin' are true and the way I explain them 2 u yes 2 UUU WHOOO OOOH OOOH OOOH " heart ugh come 2 me boy ... "i luv u whooo ... take my hand" also makes my hair stand straight up ... err

damn his voice is filled with waves of strength and vulnerability ... its like it throws him belly up and conveys that he in whole has genuine courage ... his singing offers the untold that usually hides within him ... how i luv 2 get drunk on his music love music

Down With The Falsetto Bashing! machinegun

obvious edit ...

I agree about Avalanche. The beauty of his voice during this song was staggering. It made me want to cry.

Took the words right outta my mouth. His voice is PHENOMENAL on this song - it almost did me in @ the ONA show!
