This is a survey. There are, to my knowledge, really only two types of fans on this site. There's those that can only seem to dig his more conventional work, etc., and for some reason these people seem to think Prince needs to get their approval to record what he records (Prince would call these people the critics). Then there's those that trust Prince and take in whatever music he does with open arms (Prince would call these "real music lovers".

Which kind are you?

i'm the kind of fan who accepts the fact that the man can do whatever he wants with his music, though it doesn't mean i have to embrace everything he does as the Best Music Ever Made. i know objectivity is not considered fashionable in the world of exxxtreem famdom, but what can i tell you. i'm not a fashionable guy.

I like his music alot. I own everything he's released, but don't like all of it.
I can't be bothered into seeing live anymore, It's just too much trouble, and the FAMMING over him isn't there anymore.

I'll forever buy his new music as he releases it. And normally it goes through a few rotations before I either add it to my permenant play list or shelve it.

He's still my favorite. But, I'm just not that star struck teenager I once was.


I mean, if I was my age now when I saw the Sexy MF video, I may have considered not buying the album at all.

Interesting perspective. It seems that u have left out several options that would be more fitting. I’m NOT a fan of music. I’m a Chicago Bears fans, Bulls Fans, and Cubs fans but I’m NOT a music fan. Music is as important 2 me as air 2 breath. I am a connoisseur of music and Prince just happens 2 be the baddest MF out here making music. Does that make me a fan? I don’t think so…………

I love music but...it's really only Prince's music that makes my heart skip a beat! And as much as many of us hate to admit...I'm a fan of the man as well....his style, his hair, his face...I just dig him...period. No, that doesn't mean I like every single song or every statement the man makes but that would just be weird. I respect him and his decisions enough to accept his choices whether I agree with them or not.
