I really dig it when Prince is playing those traditional funky riffs troughout a whole song (Controversy, 1+1+1=3) but right now my favorite is:

His playing is so tight and funky on that track, and the little improvisation during the bridge is just brilliant.

A shame he doesnt do does kind of riffin more often nowadays on record.

i tell ya, i'm loving the NPG video clip of Prince playing funky back up to Maceo on the Track 'We Gone 2 make funky'. Can't get enough of that. Hs funk is always best live and not on record.

I really love the rhythm guitars on 777-9311... I can hear two rhythm parts... There's the main one that the song starts with... it sounds like it's acoustic... then there's a second with the higher pitched funky chords during the chorus...
