Prince may have sold Paisley Park!

I have a friend in Minny who told me that Prince sold Paisley. I have no proof of this, but this is a very serious guy who I trust. Hoping he is wrong, but this would be awful. Paisley holds many memories for all of us, but I guess none for Prince.
All you others say Hell Yea!! woot!

lol Really. This is the guy who's thinking about what's next a minute after he's done something.

No doubt that the selling of Paisley Park will be sad for those who have been there, but to assume that the place means more to you than the man who built it with a version personal vision is ridiculous.

As always, if this is true Prince has his reasons, perhaps it was not lucrative or cost effective to keep it, who knows.

Sold it to who? If he sold it, he no longer intends to record there which would mean, he is setting up shop somewhere else.....Vegas?

That would be the saddest news I'd want to hear. I live in Minneapolis and I drive by Paisley Park on my way to work. I saw him pulling in many times, for some reason he'd go there late in the afternoon when I'd drive back home.
Selling Paisley Park would be THE MISTAKE of his life.

If he sold Paisley Park (and that's a huge "if"), it would be very easy to find out. All you'd have to do is check with the county register of deeds. I'm not sure what county Chanhassen is in (I know Minneapolis is Hennepin County -- but Chanhassen is way outside of Minneapolis), but I'm sure someone in here can tell you.

I would'nt put it past him. He parted with Glam Slam and his store that used to be on Lake Street. He's also parted with two wives, So Paisley Park would'nt be too much of a stretch.

Paisley Park is just a building.

The music is all inside Prince. No matter where he goes or records, that music will be with him.

I wish he would. His music went into the forays of overproduction from the moment he set foot in that building.

Put him up in an old warehouse somewhere again ANY TIME. Mr Luxury Puss should get his fingers dirtay again. And not on identical twins, if you catch my drift.

It doesn't mean much at all, Dez. He could still have sold it and left this page before all the legal procedure takes place.

Okay...so...if it has been sold, it happened very recently. The county still lists the owner as PRN Music Corporation -- and notes that the October property tax installment was paid.

From the county records, I also learned that if my cousin wanted to go to Paisley Park, he could walk! eek

I knew he and his family lived in Chanhassen, but I didn't know they were within hollerin' distance of the Park.

Man - I wonder what his payments are? eek

Here is how I feel...Why would he ever sell it? Unless he plans on leaving and never comeing back to MN (which I doubt) there is no reason to sell it. I am sure the building is paid for and if need...he could always live there. It has everything he will ever need. I also believe he would destroy it before selling it. If he doesn't like other folks using his band "It's like asking me to sleep with my woman," I highly doubt he would like driving by or hearing about what someone else is doing with something he has spent so much, so much time with and creating so many of his "children" in.

True, to paraphrase the song Paisley Park is in one's heart; but it would be sad for Prince to sell it, imho. sad

It's one of those things that will always be affilitated with Prince regardless of how much he may want to disassociate from it... shrug
