Prince's clothes I love the way Prince dresses - always have. But some people are really afraid (that's my interpretation) of it. I hear some really mean comments based on what a man they don't even know chooses to wear. Why is that?

There's only 1 answer:jealousy.Few,if any,men r women, could pull off Prince's look and get away with it.He ALWAYZ looks fabulous in EVERYthing!

I like about 1% of his outfits.
Being that he wears a different one every day, that makes at least a few thousand that I approve of.

I'd love to have his stylist...but of course it's only shit Prince can pull off.

That's a stupid answer, sorry to have to say it. That is YOUR only answer. Not every woman or man is going to be as gaga for Prince as you are, you sweet deluded fam. But I love you for what you are. It all comes down to TASTE. That is my answer. Some like Prince to prance around in assless pants, but it will disgust most. I kinda like that rugged Purple Rain look, his hair all butch, clad in leather and totally black clothes. I also like most Sign The Times outfits. His clothing back then was top of the bill; just go look at the tourbook special in the photography section of Housequake Dot Com and you will know what I mean. All his clothes then were HAWT. And I mean HAWT as being dope, not sexy. I am not into Prince like that. And I have a weakness for his pre-Purple Rain outfits. Totally pimp, leaning towards the PR era, but without the over the top frilly stuff he started to wear to drive home his mega stardom.

No, there is NOT. Jeez, what is this; the super FAM forum? Oh, yes it is. FAM; too single-minded person that has no brain capacity left to leave open the possibility there is something called reality.

FAM; too single-minded person that has no brain capacity left to leave open the possibility there is something called reality. I love Prince's music, and I love his performances. But I have never been keen on most of his outfits. They're just...erm...kind of tacky. But this in no way means I'm jealous of him. I would never never never never never never ever, even under threat of DEATH rock this shit:

I find his current style now to be suave and debonair. I loved the style of the 80's Prince. I'm not so sure about most of the 90's.

Huey's the last person I'd call a hater. Unless by hater you mean that he hates FAMS And I doubt there are many folks, even in this obsessed and wacked out forum, that own a catalogue of music as extensive as his, or likes Prince as much as he does. He's merely referring to people who think that just becuase others don't feel the same about Prince, It must be becuase of this or that reason . That's bullshit. Everyone has their own opinions. I think it's a semantics thing. The General Discussion forum guys call tend to think of a FAM as someone who likes Prince in a "Brainwashed" manner, while most of the folks in this forum regard a FAM as just a fan. And I agree with Huey 100% on his take of the definition. I always thought Prince's explaination of calling his fans "FAMs" was so stupid. Like he really treats us like family. This statement was made during the time in his life where he was throwing those parties at paisley park. I can't recall anyone I know who would make thier "family" stand outside in the freezing cold for long periods of time to attend his "parties".

I love the way Prince dresses. I seriously would love to rummage through his closets or go shopping with him. The man has a wonderful sense of style.
Even when he's rocking something no one else on the planet could dare pull off, he does it with such style and flair that you just have to smile. Just because Huey has an extensive collection or supposedly likes Prince a lot, that doesn't give him the right to make light of other people's feelings, which is exactly what he was doing with that comment and why I responded the way I did.

Yeah. I see you point. But I still love it when he tells them off. It's like watching a MJ fan get bitch slapped by Triumph the Insult Dog. I keed. I keed!

*ahem*
Back on the topic... I don't think people have ever been afraid of what Prince wears. That would invest him with a ridiculous -- and frankly, undeserved -- amount of power. I think a lot of folks just thought it was extremely silly (a lot of it was) or in very poor taste (a lot of it was). His best looks over the years have been the simplest -- the Parade-era yellow suit, for example. He gets into trouble (like a lot of...uh..."vertically challenged" people) when the look gets too busy. That plaid outfit from the Lovesexy era -- you know the one I mean -- is a case in point. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Some people say mean things when they don't like something. I have a sibling who does this.

The relentless famming just gets to me sumtimes. I rather would love to see a somewhat wider interest in just PRINCE!PRINCE!PRINCE!, ya know. But if the opposite of FAM is HATER, then HATER©® I am. It comes naturally. I won't even defend myself, but will embrace the logo and will have it tattooed above the tattoo above my ass crack.

I like Prince's clothes, in a "couture" kind of way: it looks great on the stage, but it doesn't really translate well into everyday life. He wears some cool stuff, but it's not the kind of thing that the average guy could wear to an office or to church. Hell, some of his stuff, I find myself wanting (esp. the boots!!!)....If I'm gonna hang out with a guy dressed like Prince, he better hook me up, too!
I had a student (18 years old, about 5'5") ask my opinion about his wearing heeled boots to the prom since his girlfriend is taller than he is already, and planning on wearing stilettos. He figured I'd approve since I'm a Prince fan. The other boys laughed, but I told him if he feels comfortable and they match his outfit, go for it- I'm about individual style. "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"
