Actually, Billy Joel is singing the National Anthem, but not the Halftime show. Prince is scheduled to do the halftime show. She was going 2 per4m "American Pie". Word was she discovered she was pregnant with Rocco and backed out. Which is all 4 the better if U ask me. Everybody thinks he will perform one of his classics. I don't think so! I've known Prince too long to do something that easy and simple. Besides, he said after the Musicology tour that he was retiring all his old songs so don't look for that. I think that he will perform a couple of later songs like "Musicology", "Lolita", "Get On The Boat", or "Life Of The Party". I also think he might give us a sneek peak at a new song he'll probably release in the future. That's my take on it.  Peace and be wild! | |

prince said he was retiring his old songs but yet.....we still hear LEts go crazy,purple rain,pink cashemere,if i was ur girlfriend, etc. Not true | |

He hasn't retired the old songs/hits, and never will. I think we've all pretty much settled on the fact that that was just a marketing ploy during the Musicology tour. What did he play on Good Morning America? At the Brits?
I'm hoping, like everybody here that he unleashes some new material like he did on SNL with Fury. That caught EVERYONE off guard, and people were talking about that song and the guitar work for a very long time. Unfortunately - and true to form for Prince - there was no single readily available after that performance on iTunes (same for the lack of an iTunes single for Lolita after the American Idol performance). He has a golden opportunity here to reach a huge, huge, huge audience. Hope he doesn't blow it. | |

Prince should end with Fury, and do that echoing gutiar effect at the end of a gutiar solo in which he tears the gutiar up! put it down with the effect and strut off the stage having the camera follow u off, then have camera cut back to the guitar laying on the ground and then blow the gutiar up! I'm telllin ya white folks will flip! | |
