Did Prince played or did Prince play? I think it was the piano back then. There is a picture in the gallery where it shows him on the piano with the band Grand Central.

He probably was never in his school band or orchestra. He probably strolled in during practice and played every instrument (except hornz) for like 2 minutes and left without saying a word. He then strolled backed in with his huge round afro and said I want to challenge all of you (the entire school band) like he did in GB. The band accepted and went outside into the play yard and he performed an early version of tick tick bang.
Just kidding I have no idea

His teacher at school allowed Prince to lock himself into
the music room over the lunch period, so he could practice piano.

Just kidding I have no idea do you mean winds and not hornz? I am in band. Brass w/ woodwinds are called winds for short cut.
