What if SexyBack were on 3121?

I know that one shouldn't dwell too much on the past, but...
It's obvious that Justin Timberlake is in his Prince period and very inspired by our man. As I see it SexyBack could just as well have been done by P. This made me think, what if the song actually WERE Prince's and the first single from 3121 to have been released, instead of TAC?
Beside the fact that Prince could certainly have made the song sound (even) more funky and sexy, it would also have made an amazing, perfect attention grabber and "come-back".

[Verse 1]
I'm bringing sexy back
Them other boys don't know how to act
I think you're special whats behind your back
So turn around and ill pick up the slack.
Take em' to the bridge

[Bridge]
Dirty babe
You see these shackles
Baby I'm your slave
I'll let you whip me if I misbehave
It's just that no one makes me feel this way

i wouldve preferred him to do "My Love" without TI of course...that beat is just SICK by itself, with Prince it would've been over...I can see sexyback though as well lol, it just wouldve been a hilarious music video

speaking of celebrities making princelike songs, have you heard Diddy's "Last Night" with Keyshia Cole on his album Press Play...I'm not a Diddy fan but the beat is so awesome and modern day Prince-like and Keyshia did tear it up, but Prince wouldve made that song classic!!

It was the right song for JT to do. I doubt, very much, it would have been right for Prince, though. For him, it would have been taking a few steps back.

It's funny that U mention that, because when I first heard "Sexyback," all I could think of was "Loose!" Did any1 else find themselves in a similar situation? And while on the subject of "Sexyback," the Peter Rauhofer Remix is spectacular, a detuned monster of an electrohouse track.

i think "futuresex/lovesounds" sounds more like it could be
on a prince album.

funny though, how everyone was trashing justin's album when
it first came out and now people are making threads like if
this justin song was on a prince album, lol.

Justin Timberlake sounds like a little girl. He's as far from sexy as it's possible to be.

I agree. So phony.

it does! in fact, the entire album is not as bad as people make it out
to be. everyone is being compared to prince on here. it´s only his 2nd
album.

so kinda like his ´prince´ album, if you háve to compare it to one of
prince´s discs.

It would ruin an otherwise splendid album! I'm sorry, but that JT crap is wack.

If P made the exact same song it wouldn't have gotten radio airplay. And, it wouldn't have been a hit.

JT gets played on pop radio because he's 25 and kids can relate to him. He gets R&B/Urban airplay because he's 25 and Timaland produced the song.

Please do not compare the 2 artists in any way, shape or form, because there is no comparison. It's all Farrell on this one, I doubt if Brillo Head even came up with one of the beats on this disc.

If this were Prince's song & he released it - I really wonder if it would have the success Timberlake's getting from it. I love Prince, but I think the majority love hype instead.

Exactly!!! It sounds like garbage and Prince would never put that crap on his album. Or if he did it would change my opinion of the song in no way.
