When does he get on your nerves?

Too vain when he walks by people?

Too unprofessional when he shows up late after fans stands for hours waiting for him?

Too disappointing music when new music comes up?

Doesn't tour enough?

Doesn't pick the right artists to work with?

When does he really get on your nerves and why???

i know this isn't right of me to say, because prince is prince and he's a legend and he has special spiritual/mental/psychic needs and blah blah blah, but he gets on my nerves the most when i see how personable and accessible other artists are with their fans. the guy's entitled to his privacy, but i dunno...he has such an amazing community of fans who have stuck with him through all of his changes and differing ideologies and seeming contradictions over the years...would it hurt to send a personally written e-mail to the NPGMC mailing list once or twice a year? or, i dunno, issue a purple puff of smoke from the balcony of the rio or something?

ultimately, i'm used to how he is with fans, and he has gone through periods where he has been very interactive with his audience, with the celebrations and the early online chats and all that good stuff. i just get the feeling that these days, the fans aren't part of the mix, and good luck to him on whatever he's all about with vegas and 3121, but it does bug me a little bit when other artists i like seem to be offering so much, so effortlessly.

I dunno Anx, it seems that he's pretty accessible now more then ever. I mean when he performs at 3121 you are just a few feet away from him. Let's not forget whenever he has let the fans in for soundchecks or even when he's just kickin' it in the club.
I guess what I'm tryin' to say is that a little accessibilty is better then none at all, rite?

I have to agree with you. I just came back from Vegas and the access we got was unforgettable for a man of his stature who has been in this business so long. I really don't know what more people want. And let's not forget that when he was being interactive, folks were still complaining and threads like this still appeared. At think at this point Prince is like, whatever, you're either along for the ride or get off.

i guess part of it is socially accessible, and part of it is feeling like you have some kind of idea of what his whole deal is about...being privy to the process of creation or having some idea what he's conveying through his work.

i felt connected as a fan when, say, 'lovesexy' came out, because he was so excited about the message of that album that if you paid attention, you felt somehow 'part' of it. i didn't need prince to come hang out with me to understand...and he didn't have to write essays or do interviews or anything like that. it was just fully realized.

i feel like prince has been awfully squirrelly this year. and, you know, if he wants to work on his own empire and not be in the mode of "new power generation daddy" for a while, that's his choice, and if what he's on about with his last album or his vegas stint is none of his fans' damn business, then so be it. i wish him success, but i find his whole showcase this year a bit offputting and unappealing - and yes, the man got on my nerves a little this year. but whatever...maybe it'll lead to something cooler next year. shrug

Hmmm, the long wait in Vegas was annoying because my feet were killing me. sad Other than that, I might go eek or disbelief sometimes, but I'm over it before it can get on my nerves.

It might be different if I actually had to be around him frequently, but since I don't it's no biggie.
Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

nothin really only when he's unappreaciative of fam sites and sometimes he can be kinna rude wit inteviewers and bein late for shows and stuff. most of this occured mostly back in the day. but sometimes it makes me wonder how he really is as a person. i mean i really wanna meet him, but sometimes i get scared that he would ignore me like i was just another fam(huh!as if!)sometimes i wonder if he would like me and my music and be cordial or if he would just brush me off like"i aint got time 4 dis"but i guess i'll find out if i meet him.

lol Funny.

I can't hear him either at times. He mumbles. It's funny how he can be shy when he's him and incredibly open once on stage.

I agree with you Anx. Prince might walks right before us, he still won't interact with us socially. How many hands has he shaken in the club? How many people has he spoken to?
