Girl 6 soundtrack This is a pretty cool album, lots of great stuff. I suppose the whole 1-9000 craze ended when the internet took off though.
Anyone like the original songs on this cd? I think She Spoke 2 Me and Don't talk to Strangers are pretty solid songs, Girl 6 would have been a lot better without all the phones ringing. Pretty good vocals though. ______________________________________________

She Spoke 2 Me was cool IMHO.Don't talk to Strangers didn't move me at all."Count The Days" was alright but out of place for me here."Girl 6" the title cut was Wack IMHO.Anyone like the original songs on this cd? It's one of my most favorite non-stop playing albums ..."Don't Talk 2 Strangers" is definetly one of my most fondly listened track. Actually... I love them all, but if I had to pick one that I could do without, it would be "She Spoke 2 Me"... I usually skip that one.
I have played this soundtrack sooo much that I think it's about worn out, time for a total replacement.

I forget..
were there any songs off that soundtrack that were "new" prince songs? or were they all from different albums?

I woke up sunday morning with no way to hold my head that didn't hurt

The only thing I don't like is the shortened versions of some songs.

Pretty good vocals though. The title song "Girl 6" sucks big time! I don't know why they insisted on releasing it as a first single.A better single would have been the superior "She Spoke 2 Me".

The 'Girl 6' soundtrack is pretty good,
but one thing that really annoyed me was the missed opportunities in the sequencing. I'll explain... The album includes the full album versions of 'Adore' and 'Girls & Boys'. Both these songs segue out of/into other songs on their respective original albums. 'Girls & Boys' has no proper ending because it segues into 'Life Can Be So Nice' and 'Adore' has that crowd noise over the intro from 'It's Gonna Be A Beautiful Night'. Since none of the tracks on 'Girl 6' segue, it would have been nice if they had just put that extra little effort into the album and included a version of 'Adore' without the crowd noise, and a version of 'Girls & Boys' with an ending.

Girls and Boys does have an ending, but its bootleg. On the Charade LP that came out in Paris for Paisley Park fans... The only thing that happens at the end right when he says "gils having boys" six more fast linn drum claps end it...would've been cool, but Prince did his own thing real qick...I think Prince is the one who produced the album Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.

BorisFishpaw, you so are right about those 2 tracks.. I could have done that "Girls & Boys" fade mydamnself, and as if WB couldn't have gotten rid of the crowd noise on "Adore"'s intro!
It sorta sounds like a CD-R mix burned by Spike Lee!

I absolutely adore the 'Girl 6' soundtrack. It's one of my favorite albums ever. I never get tired of listening to it.
I think it's sad more people don't even seem to know it exists! The one song I could do without, though, would be "Don't Talk 2 Strangers."

I really love this CD. "She Spoke 2 Me" and "Count The Days" are two of my favorites. I also really like the title track: "Girl 6."
