he makes way too much tv appearances lately by performing coupled w/ new album tracks
there's this thing called "over saturation"
i dont think he figured it out.
it dont matter how good you are.

people get tired of seeing/hearing of same person and get really turned off.

he's getting there...

lol

But he did it with Beyoncé disbelief Or is it a duet if a person sings and another person howls beside him?

LOL, yes. That's right.

Hmm, he wouldn't do a "Christmas" album, right? JW's don't DO that.

But, what if he wore assless pants? On national tv? That would kinda put a fork in it for me... wink

That's dogged.

I don't remember which boxer said it but he was asked about an upcoming fight, the question was if he lost would it destroy his legacy. He basically said that if the one fight could destroy his legacy then it wasn't much of a legacy.

Prince is at the Legend status now, nothing he could do could ruin it (see Michael Jackson). Now, the Vegas thing, well that is where artists are put out to pasture or stud in some cases. I was surprised that he made that move so soon. However, I am not mad at him (or other Vegas acts). Places like Atlantic City and Vegas are a haven for older artists who may not be dominating the singles charts like they once did, but have a large fanbase and are still appreciated all over the world. Even one-hit wonders have a great after life in these places. If Prince has found a situation where he can always play to a packed house, generate a good stable source of revenue and basically do it exactly the way he wants (in his own custom made club), why not do it? I wish I could be so blessed.

So even if he killed kittens on live TV and ate them I don't think he could destroy his legacy.

my 2 cents

You make a good point, and I'm not talking about the kittens.

I'd be willing to bet that Prince structured his deal with the Rio so that he has all the upside and none of the downside. He's owned clubs before, and knows that when they go south, it's quick and expensive. With the Rio, he doesn't have to worry about that. Nor does he have to worry about hiring and firing employees, filling out payroll tax forms, keeping up the inventory, etc.

The way Prince is doing his "own" club is the best way to do it.

the americal idol thing really tested it for me, almost to a point of no return....but hearing how he snobbed the show made me smile....that's my prince.

I think he could do anything, and the thing that will make it, is that he will do it his way.

I nearly felt this way when he stopped swearing in his music etc - but I had to understand why he did it - and just how good his music still is without all that wink

No, that's the One Night Alone CD.

This is the closest I would get to losing respect. To see him working with anyone who obviously has no talent like Shitney Spears.
