Prince as Rex Harrison

Just for fun:

I hate typecasting people but Prince (the persona) would be the perfect
Henry Higgins/Pygmalion. In fact this would be great as an epic follow up to Purple Rain.

Only reason I'm mentioning this is because that Stefani song may start a trend of butchering the musicals. Not saying that Pharrell butchered that track...I like what he did.

The story line is perfect & he basically plays a version of himself (The persona).
Of course, it would only borrow a bit from My Fair Lady but imagine him writing and performing his version of some of those songs.

Would anyone else like to see this? If so:

Who would play Eliza Doolittle/Galatea? (In this case she would be an undiscovered talent that he molds into a star.)

Would this be a traditional musical or more like Purple Rain?

I would love to hear his version of "I've grown accustomed to her face". Different song and title etc...
What songs would you like to see referenced?

Note: Keep the replies to a minimum. I have a rep to uphold.

Ok I decided I'd want it to stay traditional musical...and Rosairo Dawson can be Eliza. And my only demand is a blatant referece to the "polite conversation" at the races, because well, it's hilarious.

Rosario is perfect. She can easily be the crude street performer that he discovers. And she can also easily be transformed into the beauty.
That Corinne Bailey girl might be interesting too...She's cute but she can also do dowdy well. Wonder if she can act.

I dunno if she'd have enough edge to pull off Eliza. I just don't sense any "spunk" in her, ya know? But perhaps.... hmmm

doh! "O" now "Ow" edit

I know. I was thinking more of dramatic transformation but if it's spunk/attitude, then your call is perfect. In fact, it's now hard to think of anyone else.

Man!. I'm surprised that no one mentioned "Why can't a Woman be More like a Man". Perhaps we're the only ones that would like to see this.
Doesn't matter, let's make him do it.

Young Madonna would be fine. Well, except that this person has to be able to act...
and sing.

Rosario will have to accept. What about the rest of the cast?
For old time sake should Morris be Alfred P. Doolittle or maybe Colonel Hugh Pickering or should everyone else be "Hollywood/Broadway"?

Oh, Jerome can not be the butler! It's too easy.

(couldn't find a before pic, that would be funnier)

Morris as Alfred P. cracks me up too. Yes, just the thought of it.
Looks like we'll have the theatre to ourselves but it will be fun.
