As you have said before "Get out of my head!" I feel the same way. I feel that a true fan can critique Prince and not feel that everything he does is the best ever. I do fam out every once in a while though. And that's.....okay..... M MyeternalgrattitudetoPhil&Val.Herman said "We want sweaty truckers at the truck stop! Why on Earth do you think that? Why would you think that Prince doesn't want people to be "in" to him. He may be shy and reclusive but I doubt I'm sure he still wants us to like him? Don't we all want to be liked??? What's the point of him performing on stage. He loves people loving his shows! That's what he gets off on. Why else go on stage?? Shut up already, damn.

Which kind are you? Yeah mate that's your stupid opinion. Really people who like "whatever" Prince does are therefore "REAL" music lovers... Grow up. People who like everything regardless are absolutely blind and don't have an opinion of their own. Like you maybe. You obviously feel so threatened that you have to single these people out and divide everybody in two camps. GOOD FANS v BAD FANS.... Well wouldn't that be the perfect world. Get a life and GET an opinion. This was designed to point out people like you, who only think with your egoic mind. And it makes me laugh that you got so offended. Dude, chill. It's just a poser.

Critiquing the music is one thing, as long as the critique is POSITIVE! Remember when we were growing up and in school, and our teachers (if they were worth their salt) would only give constructive criticism. CONSTRUCTIVE, god-darnit! Some of the trite BS I've read on here, about the symbol period or such and such performance, is just plain uncalled for, and not constructive at all.

actually, those 'unconstructive' comments help me out a lot, because it helps show me who i can and can't have interesting conversations with about music on here. but i will fess up on one thing - i'll never have positive constructive criticism for '$1.99: the new master' - we all have our breaking points.

You have a point there. Maybe I should think about it like you. And don't you think that guy who called me insecure got a little too strong with his language? Methinks the lady (or dude) doth protesteth too much, as Shakespeare would say.

And to clarify on my posting about constructive criticism, I will be the first to admit that there are some songs he's done, that I just don't care for. But it's not because they are bad songs, they just don't speak to me.
Put your child in Prince's shoes, and then tell me how comfortable you'd feel telling him that some work he did was lousy or horrible (these are nice ways of saying some of the criticism I've seen here over the years.) Would you do it?

Which kind are you? Not sure where I fit in. For one I'm one of those fans who respects/admires his musical abilities. but i dislike his flamboyant stuffs. Just musically, not personally. Having said that. I think Prince should spend more time making a truly great music. He has all the tools to make great music. but he pumps out way too many albums way too soon. You get tired of hearing nothing new. I alway expect something new refreshing/revolutionary sound. just because you are musically gifted, it dont mean you will automatically make great music all the time. prince may think otherwise but ultimately if people dont like your music, you will be forgotten.....

A "real music lover." I just love Prince's music a whole lot.

Ex-Moderator | I buy everything new, but I end up loving it for a week or two till the novelty wears off and then I don't listen to it forever. But when I hear it at a friends house, I'll dance and sing along.
I will still take every opportunity to see him live I can get. I've seen hundreds (if not thousands) of shows over the years and he still tops my list as number 1 performer of all time that I've seen live. I can't imagine that ever changing. |

Prince might call them that; most people would call them unthinking and gullible. If I was Prince (and who knows, I just might be ) I would be wary of people who gushed about every single thing I ever did. Not only wary - i'd probably invite them over for dinner, bludgeon them to death with a hammer, and then fry their private parts in sunseed oil with half a clove of garlic and a finely chopped chili. There's a Bumhole in my Heart.

What's the problem are you afraid to speak your own mind so you get offended and take the piss out of people who do. Get a life. Shut up already, damn.

Whether you see critisism as constructive or not is just your own opinion.
I think that you need to not be so offended if people say something "negative" about Prince. It's like the Emperorers new clothes. If we all tell him he's perfect all the time then we would be lying to him and deep down I'm sure Prince is the best judge of his music. Afterall he writes it. Shut up already, damn.
