Prince's vast number of fans - Will they grow in the future? Hardcore fans are around 100,000 strong. Are we it? or do you think that people will still be discovering Prince long down the road?
True musicians will always admire him for his work. They also have an influence on their audience, much like Prince turned me on to Joni Mitchell and Sly Stone, I think that future musicians will be turning their fans on to Prince. As his record sales dwindle, will his fanbase survive? Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

the number of fans will decrease, if anything.
for every new fan gained, an older one will do just the opposite. i think he´s on a pretty steady fanbase right now with a certain amount of people who will buy his new stuff regardless. they know what to expect from prince and they know they will enjoy it. then there´s the occasional rise or fall in numbers when he releases some obscure online album or a mega promoted commercial album. after a while the fanbase levels out again right down to the hardcore. which is just fine. but i think that no matter how many fans he has, he will always be respected for what´s right there in his catalogue. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

As long as there are people who like music, there will be people who like Prince, believe me!
