Just curious. I graduated in 98' (High School). we had some lame class song that I can't remember. All of my friends that graduated the following year had '1999' as there 'Prom theme' and their class song. Some Schools even had Purple decor for their proms and graduations Some of the Seniors didn't even know who Prince was, I'd ask them. "well...who wrote '1999', and what album is '1999' (hint) on...? They wouldn't know They'd say, "that guy with the Geri Curl, that sang about it raining! It was funny.

I bet if we did a nationwide survey...significantly more than half of all High School Class' in America, that graduated in '99, used that song for either prom or graduation.

How many of you graduated in 99...? Was that your class' theme...?

I graduated in 1999..a couple of people in my class recommended the song. but it got shot down. Instead they chose some country song, I guess that I should have expected that considering half of my school and classmates were rednecks.

I graduated high school in 1999 and my school played that song to death. I still skip it because I haven't detoxed from hearing it yet. It was played at every school assembly continously and it was always on the radio. That year a local radio station changed hands and as a publicity stunt it played 1999 for 24 hours. I think that maybe there was something up with my geographic location and that song.
