Just saw the 'Fury' video for the 1st time... So, I just saw the 'Fury' video for the 1st time. I work in a bar in Dallas and me and a buddy downloaded it and added it to our playlist while the boss is out sick. I love it! It captures the essence of the SNL performance beautifully. I have to admit, I expected a big fat grin from 'the Kid' at the end of the video, but giggled to myself when he stuck his tongue out instead. I love this new Prince! He's becoming a REAL kid again!!
I played it at least five times throughout the day and people's reactions were overwhelmingly positive. "This is great! When did THIS come out? What album is THIS from? Has Prince even aged at ALL?!?" And my favorite: "Is that Beyonce dancing with him?" I responded to that with "Who's Beyonce?" Priceless. "3121" is such a great album. "Fury" is such a great song! If only more people could hear it.... Hmmm....methinks I have a plan a-brewin'...more on this very soon..... 
By the way, also downloaded the Robbie Williams "Rudebox" video. Hot, hot, hot!! Just wanted to let everyone know. "Take both pills, f*@k the Matrix..." "Plaid shorts are completely over." | |

Wow, I thought the video sucked. It combined carefully shot, though random footage with lazy, half-assed "performance" shots that didn't match with the rest of the video.
It doesn't even really tell a story at all. It's just a quickly thrown together combination of clips. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

I can't get behind you thinking the performances were 'lazy', tho. Prince looks so alive in the vid, and those dancers, particularly Tamar, are giving it, well, for lack of a better term, hell! I bet her bootie was still shaking the day after the shoot! And does a video have to tell a story? Did any video from the 80's make any sense (yes, I am talking to you David Byrne!)? I saw the vidoe a while back ago. It reminded me of Phatom of the Opera (04). The way the stage was set up. I saw it on yahoo. I guess you are talkin' about a live performance. I am at a lost.  | |
