The symbol album. I played it so much I had to replace it and decided to go ahead and spend some money on the CD. And be among her cloudy trophies hung.

Yes there was a time when there were no cd's my young friend. We had to buy it on tape or album, so I guess this question does not apply to you.

I just found Emancipation tonight at the 99 cent store around the corner. It was brand new still in the box. Now that's a deal. Sad sort of to see Mayte's pregnant belly on tape 3.

I never bought a Prince tape. I bought LPs and recorded tapes to play in my car.
I have For You through Batman on vinyl -- plus a boatload of 12" singles. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

a used copy of the "Theives In The Temple" casette single, so I could transfer the B Side to MP3, since I've never seen it on CD anywhere. I could be wrong, but it was worth the small price.

I only had a few tapes -- the Dirty Mind/Controversy double-tape, 1999, and Sign O' The Times (all double albums that fit on one tape for continuous play). Everything else was vinyl up until Diamonds & Pearls.

For me it was LP. The last LP I bought for the new music (not to complete the vynil collection) was Graffity Bridge.

I bought a double tape Lovesexy/Parade back in 1991. At the time they were the only Prince albums I was missing, and it was dirt cheap. I actually bought a CD copy of Parade a few months back. I don't know if I'll do the same for Lovesexy. Maybe I'll just download it.

Ooh, the last Prince cassette that entered my collection I got at a concert, btw. It is an NPG sampler.

Batman, though I already had Sign and Parade on cd at that point (though I had no cd player!)
Interesting sidenote: at the time I bought it (in 1988), the Sign o' the Times cd cost me $50!!!

The only Prince tape I had was Purple Rain, and my brother bought that. I bought lp's; they sounded way better and I could just tape them myself.
The first album on cd I bought was Sign o the Times, and after that it was all cd's. I did have a few cassingles, though, and I think the last I got was Pink Cashmere. [Edited 11/15/06 10:44am] My Legacy
