Prince is a notoriously fickle creature. I have my doubts about the depth and seriousness of his commitment to anything, least of all veganism.

I thought that there'd been reports of his eating cheese or something (a pizza at a gig?) so apparently he's no longer vegan. The q is whether he's still a vegi?

there have been reports posted on the org from various papers and magazines of prince sitings where he's been eating fish entrees at various restaurants. i don't get the feeling he owns stock in the meat industry, but at best i think he's a quasi-tarian these days.

well, i meant that prince won't be giving moby competition in terms of vegetarian dining establishments (moby has a vegan restaurant/cafe called teany in nyc).

and it's true, many dieters turn to steak for slimming nutrition.

I get it now. Sorry -- I'm just not up on the celebrity diets. wink lol

How obvious can it be? I mean all dat genius work in Rainbow Children 4 nothin? Must be the greatest lie told?

U can tell in several of his songs, he mentioned vegan-polotics. I find such a moral man 2 dream up such moralism, as if it wasa a lie, impossible.

Hes obviously built like a vegan, just look how thin he is? if he wa smunchin burgers then we could tell in his physic.

Lil Dude changes his mind like most people change their undies. Every time he stumbles onto a new idea he latches onto it like his life depended on it, but sooner or later he always loses interest and drifts off to the next Princely Absolute Truth.

That's half the fun of being a fan, IMO. Never knowing what the Way is going to be this month. lol

It was reported a few years ago (during the Musicology era) that Prince was eating chicken again. I'm not sure if it's true though.

The executive chef at the restaurant has been his personal chef. He hasn't gotten fat before, so why would he now?

his personal chef put steak on the menu at his restaurant. i'm guessing prince won't be giving moby a run for his money anytime soon. lol

lol Personally, I would hope that there would be meat on the menu at the new restaurant. You'd have to be crazy to pay any large amount of money for a salad with a side of steamed carrots when you can just go to the casino a couple feet a way and get a sprawling buffet loaded with succulent meat. Mmmm, meaty buffet razz . Without meat, the restaurant probably wouldn't make any money. Oh, and thanks; now I know to avoid Moby's place.

I didn't see anything hostile about that post, at all.

You know...an early symptom of B-12 deficiency (a common problem for vegans) is an irrational tendency to anger.

good thing i supplement my diet with b12 and a good veggie multivitamin every morning, huh?

and i wasn't referring to your post in terms of aforementioned hostility, but the one to which you were responding. might i recommend carrot juice for improved eyesight, dosed with a little ginko biloba for better mental clarity? biggrin

I knew exactly which post you were referring to -- and my comments stand.

Incidentally, if you have been a vegan for an extended period of time, a simple B-12 supplement may not be enough. If you eat no animal foods, you lack the co-factors necessary for B-12 assimilation.

And I assure you, my vitamin A levels (and eyesight) are just fine. I take cod liver oil every day -- which is a much better and more easily assimilated source of vitamin A. Carrots do not contain vitamin A, they contain beta carotene, which is only a vitamin A precursor and requires conversion in the liver. True vitamin A (like B-12) is found in animal foods only.

we'll have to retreat to our respective sides of the fence then, because i'm not a vegan - i'm a strict vegetarian who eats dairy and eggs (in moderation), so you'll have go to find an official vegan with whom to spar if that's your crusade du jour. lol
