I teach a freshman seminar course at my college and, naturally, I talk about Prince a lot. The students, by an large, know only that he is a weird guy who changed his name to a symbol. Purple Rain is as old as Gone With the Wind to them. Well one of my students is this odd fellow who craves attention and is always cracking jokes. Smart kid but wants to be the life of the party. Yesterday he informed me that, in no little part due to my influence, he bought several P albums, including Dirty Mind, Sign O the Times, and Parade. He said he was digging Dirty Mind the best but acknowledeged the brilliance of SOT.

So do I get a toaster for converting someone?

You deserve a lot more than a toaster but it's your call.
