Prince Books

I am amazed at the number of books written about Prince. I only have three: 1.)"Prince: A Pop Life" by Dave Hill - a little over my head because it was published in 1989 and I was only 8 at that time, so the only things I was interested in were Care Bears, Rainbow Brite, My Little Pony, and the Ninja Turtles. I was a little too young to completely understand and admire the complexity that is Prince.
2,) "Purple Reign: The Artist Formerly Known As Prince" by Liz Jones - my favorite out of the three. My favorite part in the book is on pg. 77: "What about the rumoured duet between Prince and Michael Jackson on the 'Bad' single? 'The first line of that song is, "Your butt is mine",' says Prince. 'I said, who's singing that to whom? 'Cause you sure ain't singing that to me. Right there we got a problem.'" lol
3.) "Possessed: The Rise and Fall of Prince" by Alex Hahn - a good read even though there are some parts that make Prince sound like a totally bad person - even though he does have his moments; he's not that bad.

Any others I should add to my Prince reading library?

alot of people don't like Possessed because it puts prince in a bad light
but those are usually die hard Prince fans...
Possessed shows prince as a human
Not completely bad, not completely good

if you like Prince in a fictional setting, here's the best page turner of the year. it's a new suspense featuring Oz Jamison, who is actually Prince in another life. this novel is getting good reviews. i can't wait til Prince finds out about it. here's part of the storyline:

PIPER BANION spent eighteen years trying to do the impossible--gain her abusive mother's love. But the older she gets, the more she realizes that a parent's undying love is something you don't have to vie for, compromise your principles for, nor beg for in your prayers...After five years of wandering from one small town to the next, she finds a true friend in SHELLY JAMISON,a runaway mom, slash, devout party girl, and outspoken rebel against the rich and powerful, which includes her family. Following the...alley fight between her and Shelly's boyfriend, Tomas, Piper finally gives in to her friend's invitation to spend the summer at her family's estate in Destin, California. At last she gets to meet Shelly's S.E.X.Y. cousin, OZ JAMISON.

Oz owns a PR firm in Seattle, Washinton. Hardly a day goes by that he can't turn a corner without being asked those headache-provoking questions--

"Are you Prince? Would you sign my Purple Rain DVD?
Touch my copy of your latest CD? Better yet, touch
me instead?"

With skin the color of smooth vanilla (and the stimulating glint in those caramel eyes) even a pledged virgin like Piper has to fight off the lure of his sexuality. At the same time, she has to out-run a charming serial killer...

Don't believe everything you read in those Unauthorized Biography books, if you read enogh of them you'll realize they're copied off of each other and basically all the same.

I bought one in braille,
but on certains pages the bumps were really huge,
& touching 'em made me feel really icky.

You know, the only book I would really feel comfortable reading (more than comfortable---I wouldn't put it down and would probably read it twice) would be the book Prince writes about himself. A biography. However, he will probably never do this. It would be so interesting though. I would love to dig into a Prince book, but not unless I know it is the truth--and how could it be---unless he writes HIMSELF or at least authorizes it.
