I clicked the 3121 site and got a lot of pictures of people and artists I didn't recognize. They all seem to dress like neo-soul or Van Hunt wannabees. I think Prince misses that period and wants 3121 to be the neo-soul mecca.

Bringing back Neo Soul? I'm getting so old!

My Mom and husband don't think so either - We all have our own things that make us laugh. I thought that he was kind of making fun of the pimp lifestyle but now I'm wondering after the gun stuff at the airport...it doesn't really matter though he still makes me laugh.

Maybe it's because I grew up in College Park and went to school woith a lot of so called 'Pimps!'

What exactly is neo-soul? I never understood the tearm. To me, it's either soul or it's not.

Well he did help usher the neo-soul in partly with songs like "Morning Papers", "I Hate U", "Sexy MF" and "Adore". All of the NS artists list P as an influence. He should have stuck with that style when everybody else jumped on it. Corrine Baily Rae and John Legend are gathering great reviews with it. And whatever happened to Maxwell??
